Default :40 Second Game Tips
Greetings,

I was wondering if anyone had any good tips for :40 turn games. I seem to get crushed and never seem to have as much time as other people.

Anything would be helpful.

1. Don't play 40 second games.

If you can't do that, then:

Play a simple race. Dwarves or Orcs are probably best. You shouldn't need to play passing games, nor think about which chain-push is the best - just move up your guards and bash.

The timer doesn't count while players are moving. Moving around players you know where they want to go gives you a few more seconds to think.

Set "don't ask" on all skills. Sure, they might use some skills needlessly, but you need your seconds more. (Don't forget to restore settings when not playing 40s)

Got to agree with Nikolai here, 40s per turn takes a lot away from Blood Bowl personally. It might be because I regularly struggle with 2 mins and I've found myself wanting more than 4 mins quite some times.

If you actually want to play that way, then I think Nikolai's tips are spot on. Good luck!

- Pus With Boots; CCVI: 4-2-2, reached playoffs. CCVII 5-2-2, quarter finals.
- Altdwarf Plumber's Union; CCVIII: 2-1-3, barely reached playoffs, narrowly lost on overtime due to snake-eyes. Ngh!

If it were 1 min I'd try... but 40 secs barely gives time to click and point...

Nikolai hit the nail on the head - the game (i.e. Blood Bowl itself, not necessarily the PC version) wasn't designed to be played in 40secs. I played one game, and have never tried it since (which is actually 1 time less than I've played the awful RT version!).
