| Hi, This is my human team that I am hoping will be registered in the OCC league when the new season kicks off. They are called 'Ancient Titans' and no surprises have an ancient Greek theme. I have gone for the normal recommended starting roster with an Ogre to add some muscle, as I find playing starting humans rosters very difficult against higher strength teams (I might just be me being rubbish ). Team as follows:Ares - Blitzer Hades - Blitzer Poseidon - Blitzer Hermes - Blitzer Aeolas - Thrower Achilles - Ogre Theseus - Lineman Actaeon - Lineman Narcissus - Lineman Heracles - Lineman Sisyphus - Lineman 3 x Rerolls I have delibrately not called anyone Zeus as he is likely to get a target over his head for that reason alone .Looking forward to getting these up and running. | There's a one in four chance we'll be in the same division next year then I guess whether I re-roll or not. For what it's worth I think your roster is the one I'd go for. I think humans need the big guy more than most for those reasons. Good luck with them, and nice theme... |

| Hi, A quick update on my first game in the OCC Div 7a with the Ancient Titans against the High Elf Team - Keltic Kings (Mubod). I will post a fuller match report, but suffice to say it went bad, really bad.... Final Score 3-1 to keltic Kings and 6-0 to the Kings on the Cas score. I had two deaths in the first four turns, the first was Hercules the lineman, the seconds was Anchilles the Ogre. No way back from there. TV down to 830. Next up is Bobman and his Orc team - Orcland bruisers, who had a 2-0 admin win against Cianybeasty's Hopeless Hobbits. Orcland Bruisers TV is 1140, so will get some inducements. Any tips on how to play this and forthcoming matches would be appreciated. The Gods were not with us... FTJUK |

| Wow, it sounds like you got really nuffled. And to have your Ogre die first game too! Ouch! Without watching the match its hard to say, so I guess my only advice is to go back to basics. Set up 2-dice blocks and knock down your opp. Cage and grind. Do as few dodges/ball handling as possible. Against Orcs though I guess you will be forced into some risky moves and you should probably seriously consider a dodge away with a Blitzer/Lineman and pass to him at some stage if your cage stalls. Re. inducements, I would consider Griff Oberwald if you have the money and want a win. He is a scoring machine. Otherwise you cant go wrong with a Wiz and if you can afford it, you could also induce an Ogre. Good luck.

| Remember that Your team is faster than Orcs (especially Catchers). If You make him overcommit to one side, You can make a break for the other wing and he probably won't be able to keep up. It might all depend on a successful Dodge roll for Your Catcher, though, and these are never very reliable with AG3...

| Well the comedy road show that is the Titans keeps on rolling with a 3-0 loss (2-0 on casulaties but no deaths!! ).It was a frustrating game for me as my percieved run of bad luck continued (I rolled double skulls on opening block and proceeded to roll four more), my wizard didn work or my babes with four players KO'd. Anyway, that would detract from Bobman's performance who did nothing wrong and exploited my rashness at the start and never gave me another sight of the ball. ![]() Titans recieved the ball and set up with a strong formation on the right flank with a thorwer and Blitzer deep to recieve the ball. The Bruisers set up in a deep colum formation. A High Kick is rolled on kick off and I give the ball straight to Aeolas. The Titans then set up a series of blocks to push deep on right hand side. However, the Bruisers react well and stall my advance due to the obvious strength advantage. This leads me to a desperation run for the line with the thrower wide open (and next to the touchline ), but I was hoping to use my Wizard to knock down all Orcs within Blitz range. Didnt work, the Bruisers promplty surfed my thrower who was badly hurt and missed rest of the game. The rest of the match was no eventful (for me not necessarily for Bobman) with KO galore and easy run ins for TDs.The replay of the game is attached if anyone is interested. I only gained the MVP SPP, so still no skill ups but I now have 90k in the bank. Due to my obvious lack of strength, I am thinking of buying a catcher and to adopt a risky running and throwing game until I have enough guard (and potentially another Orgre). I know it is risky but I am not skilled enough to play a running game with humans with no obvious strenght advantage (or Dark Elf dodging ability). I would be interested in other people's thoughts? Next game is against a new Necromancer team called the Kemmlers Creepers (mordien) with no skills ups as yet and a TV of 1000. He only has one FG but two WW. So he will have speed to match my catcher if bought. I still think risky running and throwing plays is the way to go (particulary if I cannot get numerical advantage). Lets hope the Gods have some sympathy for the Titans this week! ![]() FTJUK Last edited by FTJUK; 10th August 2011 at 08:10 AM. |

| I've recently been trying my luck in the open leagues (Naggaroth and Forum Open) with human teams that feature 2 catchers and no ogre. By and large I am quite impressed at the lower team value. With plenty of re-roll skills (pass, catch, dodge, sure hands) you can exploit the roles of each player to the maximum advantage. That said they will be outstrengthed often but the Ogre doesn't change that as much as the four blitzers do and getting guard on them is important. Catchers will be target number one for most teams - though its worth noting with AV7 the Werewolf claws aren't useful so I'd expect them to target others for maximum efficiency.

| Also keep in mind that it will be hard for the Wolves to take down your catcher. They dont have block yet and you have dodge. So that means 1/3 chance they take you down on a 2 dice block and 1/9 they will get a turnover. I still wouldnt deliberately place the Catcher in their tackle zone though. Necro early on aren't so great. You should do ok i think in the bashing department, as you outblock him. Just play it tight and mark out the Flesh Golems with Lineman to draw them away from your cage. Then stomp forward.
