| I was wondering if we've heard any rumors for GW doing something to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Blood Bowl. I've heard that the 20th anniversary was going to have a printed version of the Competition rules, but was cancelled. When Dreadfleet was released, a lot of people acted like they expected Blood Bowl to get Space Hulk treatment. Have we heard anything? |

| Only contradicting rumours, that say either we get a luxury ed or that nothing will happen - and thats a fact Also rumours run that a new update to BBLE will be made, with more starplayers and at least the chaos dwarfs, but nothing rock solid |

| Dreadfleet was kept well under wraps until shortly before it was released. I wouldn't be surprised if they so another release next year, but no idea what it would be at this time. It could be Blood Bowl but it could easily not be as well.

| From what I've seen, and heard, from various sources (some I trust more than others), probably nothing.

| Indicators at Games Day from the rumours I heard, seemed to be that Blood Bowl was less likely to be seen in the same way as Dreadfleet and so forth, because with so many teams it isn't a self contained product. I hope they'll reconsider, but right now I'm doubtful.

From what I can tell, there's probably nothing going to happen. One issue that's been pointed out to me is that 40k will release its 6th edition next year, and GW might not be looking to do any kind of box set. The only fear that I would have is that GW would cease to offer their rules online for free (or at all- outside of the LE version of the game). That would suck a lot, and GW often thinks that having free stuff available that people can also buy would really hurt them. Honestly, I'd love to see a print on demand version of the rulebook at very least. Maybe they could go through Drive Through RPG or something. Print on demand books have become pretty cheap and easy to pull off these days. |

| There are enough copies of the rulebook out there that they can't stop people sharing it now. That is one thing that doesn't concern me at all.

| I think games workshop need to accept that they've essentially lost control of the specialist games systems like BB, BFG, Epic, Warmaster etc. They can release models for them, and they'd probably sell them, but they choose not to. They promised a new release per system per year as the limit of support for specialist games, and were lying through their teeth. They chose to focus on their big 3 systems and dumb them down, chasing the 10-18 year old market, which has probably done well for them economically, but they left veteran TT gamers with no options but to go elsewhere, or take control of the rules with the online living rulebooks. They cut themselves off from that part of the market, and in turn other companies picked up the slack and have flourished, with skirmish games like infinity and malifaux growing strongly in popularity. Similarly spartan games filled the niche of BFG and Man 'o War. The amount of independents making models (a lot of them very nice) that are easily adapted for blood bowl is large. I agree with Coach, the genie is well and truly out of the bottle now. |

| I have to admit, I'm glad GW has ignored Blood Bowl for the most part. After seeing the latest edition of Warhammer, I stopped playing and started putting the minis out on eBay... apart from the ones I can turn into a team, of course. ![]() I would love to see a huge Tourney for the 25th Anniversary, either online or TT, but keeping Blood Bowl in the fans' care now is far better for the game than having GW's attention turn to it. |
