| The FrancoBowl team is currently in a league that allow teams to progress before entering the real divisions so until then (mid/late september), I think I won't talk about it much since I feel it's not that interesting. This way, I can also focus on the CCV team! CCV / Day 5: Talking about CCV, I just had my last group match against Bobman's pro elves. I hadn't played other agile teams lately so I felt I was going to struggle to disturb their passing plays. Bobman had little inducement and bought a babe. I won the toss and elected to kick, hoping for a 2-1 grind. The plan was to try to hurt his guard receiver early (and his dodge receiver if possible). I kicked short and the ball went 2 squares from the side line. My tackle blitzer, Lew Ashby, got blitzed and both receivers went behind my back while a thrower picked up the ball. Lew got up pretty angry and went for the nearby dodge receiver, BHing on the spot! I double marked the other isolated receiver and filled the gaps with TZs. Pro elves progressed a little bit and the remaining receiver dodged out of marking. I blitzed it and set up TZ again but made a little mistake. On turn 3, the receiver got up, dodged and GFId in the end zone, Bobman blitzed a hole, handed to his second thrower and succeeded the long pass he needed to open the score, above the head of a helpless lineman. In the process, team captain Hank Moody got BH (after spending last game in the KO box). I guess flirting with whoever continiously outside of the field doesn't help his health. That early score was good news for my grind plan. The kickoff saw a quick snap that allowed me to move Chris Cornell (kick lineman) under the ball, successfully catching it. I punched some elves, KOing a lineman in the process and caged on the LOS. A failed dodge (snake eyed) on his first action ended Bobman's turn, KOing the blitzer. Lew went hard on the elves again and gouged the eye of a thrower! I advanced the cage next to the side line but felt quite confident, being up 3 guys after a couple turns. Bobman was still nuffled and his first 2 dice block went ![]() , rerolled to ![]() .I spent the rest of the half controlling the ball next to the end zone. Bobman had a shot at the ball carrier with a 1D block that failed. I also fouled his remaining receiver, only stunning him and getting my lineman sent out. I KOd the second blitzer and scored just before half time. 2 of his 4 KOs came back and I set up to receive. Eddie Vedder (lineman) got a -1F on a lineman that got apo'd while his teammates stunned the other 2 LOS linemen. Bobman opened his turn on a 1D blitz on the witch but failed the GFI on another snake eye. That opened an opportunity for said witch to surf the receiver but the crowd was kind and he didn't get hurt. At that point, there were 5 pro elves on the pitch, 2 in reserve, 2 KO and 2 cas. I could score right away but if the KO recovered, it would be a 9v9 with plenty of turns to go. I hesitated to score but in the end opted for the boring stalling since I was quite sure Bobman could equalize (without leaving me much time to score a 3rd one). So the game ended 2-1. Sorry again to Bobman for the really boring second half. I got 2 guys leveling up: * Lew Ashby (tackle blitzer) who caused 2 cas * Chris Cornell (kick lineman) who scored the first TD And I think MVP went on Charlie Runkle (dodge blitzer) who should level up too.

| Ok, the game got validated and I think I definatly stole Netsmurf's dices: * Charlie Runkle, dodge blitzer, rolled +1AGI (that would be my 3rd AGI 5 blitzer): sounds really sexy to take it but that would raise my TV even more and I already have 2 of those * Chris Cornell, kick lineman, rolled +1FO which I'll most certainly take even though taking guard would be nice since I don't have any... but not sure I can pass on a strenght increase * Lew Ashby, tackle blitzer, rolled normal so that'll probably be dodge for him but Im considering diving tackle, depends who I play next Any advice?

| My advice is to not stall. It makes for a boring game. ![]() But ignoring that advice, i would go dodge on the new blitzer, +AG on the dodge blitzer and +S on the kick lineman. Whilst it isn't ideal for winning CCV (due to tv bloat) this will be an awesome team to develop in the future (CCVI and beyond). If your just thinking about winning CCV though, skip the AG bonus and go with sidestep on your dodge blitzer. Always sidestep first, then diving tackle. That's my motto. It sounds like you are doing really well and it would be great for a 1st time CC coach to win the cup. Good luck in the playoffs!

| Yeah SS probably worth it before Diving tackle. DT might be interesting to try to lock down woodies thoguh, especially as he only has 2 RR. Blodge SS and diving tackle is a really nice combination (one of the reasons I like Pro elves right now as that you can get on normal rolls on 16spp). Assuming the schedule I posted for the playoffs is how it is then you should have netsmurf's woodies or Lamenos' Khemri next. Not quite sure how that affects things. Against NS thoguh I would recommend an assassin with all the jucy av 7 around, and it is your best chance to get a str 4 blodger down (well a 2d block with a tackle player is better odds, but that takes 3 players). |

| @Etheric: Yep, I thought it would be Netsmurf or Lamaros next... No offense to Lamaros but I'd prefer to take on Khemri instead of woodies, especially with that awful wardancer. Or maybe it's better to play woodies now since they only have one WD... ![]() Im not too fan of assassins in general, even if it could be useful, I think I'll put my cash into a 3rd RR that could be use offensively on said wardancer. The idea behind DT was exactly for woodies but you may both be right, maybe dodge is the safe way to go. It would also make my only tackle piece much more resilient. @Narly: I agree, it's quite boring to stall but in some cases I just can't not do it

| well it is not official, I don't see any reason not to use it though. There are a couple of similar ones, but I like the way I did it because if all 4 get through from one group into the semis it gives 1v4 and 2v3 again. The thread is here Playoffs Format |
