So, I just had a match with lebe's wood elf team and I can't force myself to relive that train wreck for a play-by-play. I'm going to just drop a few points.

- 300k in my favor, I took master chefs. Why? I figured that with an agile team like wood elves, they would need the RRs, and if I took them away, it would either mean turnovers or more conservative playing by lebe. Long story short, neither really happened. I got some extra RRs from it, but I could have payed for them directly with better success.

- While I had very little trouble picking up the ball (until late in the second half, when it was too late to matter anyway) I was getting absolutely terrible block rolls. These would have been great had I had any players with block, but as a rookie chaos team the constant and became the theme for the match. RRs burned through on what should have been easy blocks.

- Once again, the strength of the chaos is underwhelming. On paper, it looks amazing. 4 str4 guys, and at least one more if a blitz? sign me up right? However, the void where skills should be is absolutely brutal. Couple that with a good number of my opponent's players having dodge, it was pretty rough getting knockdowns on anything other than rookie linemen.

- Overall, I may have knocked down half as many as I pushed, and then I only stunned a few. Pretty sure less than five. No cas at all, for two games in a row now, both being elves (I understand dark elves are better armored, but c'mon). This coupled with the fact I've only pulled one TD and one pass so far, means the entire team is still without a single skill, and judging by the look of it will continue to trend that way for the next three games unless mvp happens to hit a player with some SPP already.

- I ended the game with six players on the pitch, and there was no fouls thrown the entire game. Started second half with eight or nine. If I remember correctly, 3 BH beastmen, 1 beastman missing next game, and a warrior with -AG. Remember, I'm the chaos coach, taking five cas from an elf team. I'll get not one, but two journeymen for next game, who I have a feeling will take mvp and force me to either buy one and more than likely not start the CC with a mino, or wave goodbye to what few SPP I would get from a match.

- final score something like 0-6 against. I was more or less mentally checked out after halftime, where it was already 0-3, and I was kicking off. Not like kicking or receiving mattered as far as ball possession went. Also the chefs did nothing the second half, as the kickoff gave the elves back the only RR they lost.

Overall, while I knew chaos had rough starts, I feel like this is more of a non-start than a rocky one. I'm at 990 TV, going into my third match. I don't know if I really feel like trying to play this team from out of the hole they've fallen in.

Lebe, you're a great coach and opponent and don't take any of this as me being angry toward you. I'm more frustrated at the team, the dice, and my skills as a coach. I'm going to take a day and really try to decide whether or not I feel like continuing to play this team.

I know the feeling... i've stopped a chaos team due to some bad cas and frustration.

Teams without skills have to be a bit more aggressive. If you don't make me do extra rolling I won't fail those dodges. Since you were picking up well you should be trying to pass ball and run. I always like to have a goat up ahead just to force the other team to mark him. Chaos rookies need to bash a lot...

Game was 4-0 in the end... but it was a very bad unfair match for your Chaos. Shouldn't have played those woodies against you.

Next time I make a fresh vict... team ! Or go with Gobbos. Always some risk of gobbos killing something... but its a bashing game more to your chaos team's liking.

... Ok, sorry for waxing dramatic there. I've had a good couple of hours to not think about it, and eat more feel good food than I probably should. I doubt I'll stop playing them. I knew they would be difficult at first, and now I know just exactly how difficult that is.

I'll get back on sometime and get this next double-journeyman game over with. Then it's only up from there.

It does take a good few games to get Chaos up to pace, at least if the block dice aren't going your way.

Its also worth remembering that while the Warriors are sturdy at AV9 ST4, those beasts are ST3 AV8, just like regular Humans, albeit with Horns and Strength skill access.

They can be built into great players, but until you are taking advantage of those strength skills with plenty of guard, they aren't as good as brawling as Dwarves and Orcs as they will take more blows with AV8.
