For me, you are right on the money. I would take Dodge on the Blitzer and Block on the Thrower.

Having said that, you might want to consider Jump Up on the Blitzer if you want to make a killer later, as that goes really nice with MB/Piling On and helps with the low-ish MV of the Orcs and Diving Tackle could be an excellent choice for dealing with elves long term.

This early in developement I would go for jump up, unless you want to score with your blitzers on a general basis, then dodge would be best.

Jump up is something I was considering... Though my scoring is basically whoever can. I like to get my Blitzers 1 skill ASAP, so next game I'll be scoring with different Blitzers. As of right now I am leaning towards Dodge as I love having at least 1 Blodge on my team when possible...

Next thing to save up for is a Troll, hopefully 2 games...

Game 1 versus: The Valhalla Raiders (Norse), Win 2-0

The game started off with me kicking off to the Raiders, and him picking up the ball and forming a front side cage behind the line. With him fielding 2 Werewolves and a Yeti, I knew I had to get them off their feet ASAP. My first block was a Werewolf knocked on his furry ass, and a boot crushing his throat... That limited his strength options, and on turn 4 I was able to knocked the ball out of his Catchers hands, and lead at Halftime 1-0. During I instructed my team to instigate the Yeti as much as possible, as the damn monkey hadn't failed a Wild Animal all 1st half. My team hurled insulted him for the first 3 turns of the 2nd half, and was rewarded by 4 Wild Animal failures in a row! Aside from that standard issue 2nd half, receive ball and grind out a 2-0 victory.

Game 2 versus: Deadmen Walking (Khemri), Tie 0-0

This game was a comedy of errors I would soon forget. Neither team made a GFI roll, each team only was able to pick up the ball once a piece (him turn 6 in the 1st half, and me turn 4 in the 2nd half). That left the ball bouncing all over the field... I did have 2 casualties though!

This is proof positive that Nuffle is a cruel master, and enjoys our pain. I would have it no other way!

Game 3 versus: We Uppercut Taints (Norse), Win 2-0

I received the kick off, and during the next 8 turns killed 1 lineman, and knocked out 4 others. Also scored a TD on turn 8. 2nd half saw him make 3 out of 4 lineman making it back into the game, that was complicated by my BOB being thrown out for fouling on turn 6 of the 1st half... But he had a casualty, and got the MVP, so go him! lol

The 2nd Half was the Norse moving forward for 3 turns, then getting blitzed and scored on turn 8. Nice and easy... Nothing really special, just better positioning from me. Though the blitz was 3 players on a Werewolf that had the ball who got his furrry assed surfed! lol

So, after game 3 I have 2 blitzers getting normal skills and the BOB getting a normal skill also... I am thinking Guard for the 2 Blitzers and Block for the BOB, any thoughts?

Solid choices so far. There's a lot of debate over guard or block on black orcs, and I've generally favoured guard, but both are necessary early and don't seem to make that much difference. Personally I favour guard as a means of giving a solid defence to your ball carrier in the cage, but it does make him less able to put the fist in.

Well I was kind of thinking the Guard on the two Blitzers may balance out the lack of guard on the BOB, but I am evaluating currently. As my next next game isn't until tomorrow night I have time to decide... Amy suggestions on the Blitzers? Or does having guard on them sound decent?

If I don't get a double for dodge, or a stat, then guard is my first pick for 3 out of 4 - I'd maybe put mighty blow on one of them, to give you an early killer threat, or tackle in a dodge heavy league.

Cool, I am fairly certain I'll be sticking with Guard, as it is invaluable in a cage setting.

Only thing left to decide is the Block/Guard for the BOB. We have a few Norse/Dwarf teams running around which is why I am leaning towards Block. But I'd love to hear a counter arguement for Guard on the BOB!

On consideration, Norse might be a good argument for Block - against guard a Dauntless runner with Block is going to find it reasonably easy to have a go, whether you're higher strength or not. Block just stops you getting knocked down as often, so it might be worthwhile.
