So the new TT season starts tomorrow and for this mudbowl I have desided to go with skaven. The build is not the one I normaly start with, be course this is without the rat-ogre Instead I go with 2 Stormvermin, 4 gutters, 1 thrower and 4 linerats. Then the apoth and 3 rerolls.I have no idea of what other teams I will face. I will focus on getting skills on the stormvermin and try to make them evil little killer bastards, but one of them also need to get grab so that I can one turn more easy

In what way does grab help with one-turners? Is it because it negates sidestep, or because you can reposition someone on the LOS?

It makes it possible to start the chain pushing without using a blitz. With grab and a gutter I can oneturn with 4 skaven on the pitch. Does require a touchback though. Setup like this: __E__ L-GB --L The blitzer grabs the enemy into the square next to the gutter and lino, follow up. Then blitz with the left lino, chain the gutter up next to the blitzer, do not follow up, but instead move up next to the blitzer. Block with the last lino and just make the 2 GFI´s for a nasty surprice for your opponant ![]() ----G __LBE__ ----L

Ah, so you can make a one-turner with only four players on the pitch. (+ someone to pick up the ball, I suppose?) That is a really useful trick.

Yes the season is away. My superbowl opponant was not present for the start, so I got myself two games with the Comics. First one was a very weird game against a nurgle team. Ended 1-1 and no cas during the game I got a normal skill on the thrower as he got MVP = accurate.Second game was against McFood and his evil undeads. He got 60k inducements a induced a card. It turned out to be worthless for him. It was the flea flicker. I desided to kick the ball and he did a grind to score with two GFI´s in turn 8. I got a dead blitzer -> apoth to still death Second half and I swarmed down the left side and scored in two turns Then I did some fancy coaching and rolled a blitz. Did not catch the ball, but he failed the pickup and then I was in front 2-1![]() I kick for a weather change but nothing happend and he made the pick up But promtly missed the handoff catch. I could put a lot of preassure on the ball. It ended up in the hands of a ghoul, but I got him down on the ground and then did a 3+, 2+ dodge to get a gutter into the endzone. Then came the pick up and a GFI for a 3+ pass and the catch was exelent: 3-1 By then the team could only field 6 players. I recieved besides the death: a -ST on the thrower, a -AG on a lino, a MNG on a lino and in the end a BH to a lino. Good thing is that I won 70k, so I can replace the blitzer Got a normal roll on a gutter and I will give him wrestle to get some better defence. I will keep the thrower and try to keep him out of harms way.

Roster right now after two matches and a draw and a win: Blitzers, Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor (took the place of Clark Kent) are rookies. Gutters, The Joker with wrestle, The riddler, Conan and Bart Simpson all within a TD from a skill. Thrower, Bullseye with accurate but MNG with a -ST. He stays for an experiment into developing a offencive thrower. 4 rookie slaves, one with -AG and a short but violent future on LOS. Next game will be with 3 loners so LOS is all set, no matter what team I meet

So do you normally start with a rat ogre? I'm not sure whether to start with 4 gutter runners and no rat ogre or 2 gutter runners and a rat ogre! Thing is my rat ogre looks amazing so I really wanna use him but this is going to be my first team and I'm yet to even play one game of BB yet so I'm thinking maybe having my runners for my first game may be better for me than having the rat ogre but then again if I start with the ogre and two runners I can always add more runners. Any advice for me Smurf?

I have started with the ogre and two gutters before and I find it a very good starting roster, but over the last couple of years I lean more towards the one I used here. I realy do think that skaven can perform better without the big furball - I want to try it out anyways. So far I love the mobility it gives the team. No need to roll a dice before moving a high risk turnover machine. But at the same time its a sad realisation as I love big guys

Yeah I'm really starting to sway towards starting with 4 GR's rather than using the ogre at all, I might try the ogre out once I'm more familiar with the game to change it up a bit. I like your starting roster, I may have to duplicate it I was thinking of a similar roster but with more line rats and no starting thrower and buying him later on so I was going to start with 3 gutters, 2 blitzers, 6 line rats, apothecary and 3 re rolls and some fan factor but I forgot what the number was. I really like the rogre but what I think I'll do is bring him along and just have him on the side lines as team mascot so he still gets to be involved in the team.

| A Thrower will be far more useful than Fan Factor will be, it gets you two more skills and you can start developing him from game one. The starting lineup Netsmurf used is what I consider the standard Skaven starting lineup and the one I use. Getting back on track, nice win against McFood! What other races are there in the league?
