| I agree with your assessments on the different players, though I wouldn't agree with only having one lineman on the field if you have a team of full positionals. Chances are you don't want to put both Runners and Assassins on the pitch. Runners tend to be more offensive and Assassins defensive. You would usually want at least 3 Linemen on the pitch for the LOS. Linemen are the most likely to probably get Dauntless and they make a good trade off with Assassins for bench duty. Assassins are best against low armour teams which usually means the teams are weaker rendering Dauntless less useful. So the high armour teams making Assassins less use are usually stronger so you want Dauntless on the pitch. Having said that you can have a winning Dark Elf team without either Guard or Dauntless if you have too. Dauntless also does tend to be a skill on more developed teams as the core skills are more useful initially.

| Point taken, but I never play defense, only offense where the opposition begins with the ball In the higher TVs a leaping Assassin is one of the best/only cagebreakers DE has, and depending on the opposition I'd like to have my Runners ready to reverse play on him in a single turn. I guess that's why I have such an impressive player turnover on my primary DE team, but it works for me and keeps the TV down in the process I love guard on DE teams, but mine keep croaking, and it only ever seem to be Biltzers and Linemen who roll it.My Assassins never let me down on defense, and I've begun placing them one step removed from the LoS, which means if the opposition wants to follow up, they will be stabbed in the face in the next round. I have no reservations about stabbing AV8 players, as it's still more likely to injure than actually blocking. If you can be so lucky as to mark a S3 player in his backfield, you can just keep stabbing as he has to remain there or risk 1d blocks to avoid you having a free reciever. My only worry is that to much of my defense relies on the Assassins, and against AV9 they really do suck unless nuffle favours you. You can get me to remove the runners maybe, but I like having a Dump-Off player ready to pick up a loose ball, since it will probably be hard to get it to safety when you pop it loose. /Lamoron |

| I'm a big fan of doing something that works, so if the Assassins are working keep it up! I think the one I bought had a blunt rubber knife though hehe.

| I hate that player There's one on every team, who seems to ignore the fact that he supposed to do something with the skills he has. Sometimes though, you get the third type of player, who insists on doing only things that are completely against his stats and skillset.Last tournament, the guy playing Nurgle, through persistant random scatters, had the tournaments secondmost scoring player on his team... and it was the Beast of Nurgle. Short tournament, 6 Touchdowns, no casualties, and only two touchdowns from a shared first-place with a Wardancer. |

| Dauntless is a skill that I might get as a third or fourth skill on an lineman or blitzer. Currently I have dauntless on one blitzer 15 games into a League with about 50% bashing teams that have a lot of S4 and S5 players. Other than that I also have one S4 WE. So far it has worked out very well since I've noticed that I mostly use dauntless when blitzing and with one blitz a turn more dauntless players would be a waste. Perhaps I could have use of one more, but I'm hoping for an additional S4 player instead ![]() Even in a league with a lot of bashing teams you wouldn't get much use for several dauntless players since a blocking game doesn't favour the DE. Dauntless is ok when you block, but not when you are blocked. |
