The first game of Day 3, saw my Orcs taking on the might of Chaos, coached by Raven73. Ironjaw Chieftains Vs Gaul'thogs Rampagers The Orcs are getting one journeyman as two of their Linemen have just returned from injury. They do however get exactly 100k in inducements and purchase Injured in Training, this inducement reduces my opponent's rerolls by one in each half. Both teams are still fairly new, so only one St4 Block guy each though there is one Beastman with Block and one Blitzer with Strip Ball. 1st Half: The Orcs win the toss, and both teams set up an even formation, with 5 Beastmen facing 3 Black Orcs/2 Lineorcs on the LOS. The second line for Chaos is all Warriors which should be tough to break through. The kick off is Cheering fans so both teams get a RR. The ball lands at the feet of Gramnast the Thrower and he cages up in the middle of the Orc half. The LOS battle ends with 3 downed Bmen, 1 Stunned BMan, 1 KO'd and 1 downed Orc. The Chaos Warriors all skip around the LOS skirmish and challenge the cage. Rikkit (the Block CW), blitzs and GFIs twice and shoves one corner of the cage. The other CWs pass 4 more GFI rolls and there is one CW on each corner ![]() Galth (Blitzer) manages to 1D push Rikkit away, and Marfak (Blitzer) downs another Chaos Warrior, which frees up Gramnast to run the ball to the left with only a half cage for protection. In an effort to complete the cage Badhag trips over and smashes his Hip (-1 Mv). No Apoth is sent to his aid The Chaos boys don't seem too bothered by the ball, and for the most part are concentrating on getting Orcs off the pitch. One Blitz by Ro-fagors is thrown at Grimnast, but fails due to a Dodge into 2 tackles zones that rolls a natural 1. The Orcs do some of smashing their own, with Galnak Break'zom (BO) smashing the collar bone of Tro-nogors but the Chaos Apoth manages to stitch him together and he will be back for the next drive. With a Blitz by Riknast, the Orcs can form a complete cage just inside the Chaos half. The Rampagers recover well and stream back to block the advance of the cage. La-nogors needs a reroll to take out Galnak as he rolls Both Down in a 1D block, but the reroll comes up Defender Stumbles. The cage has to break up again as the Black Orcs try to hold up the Bmen in front of them while the ball carrier forms a half cage against the sideline about half way into the Chaos half. The chaos boys continue to beat up on the remaining orcs with Belmoth (CW) earning his first SPPs by badly hurting Grambad the line orc who has yet to finish a game in this league! Elsewhere Ro-fagors tries to dodge next to the cage, but rolls a natural 1 and Raven is out of rerolls. So the Orcs take the chance and run off for the line, they are only two space short, and in a half cage but it should be enough to hold til the end of the half (3 turns from now). There is no point in scoring quickly as I will be gaining no additional players (all 3 I lost are in the injured box, while Raven has 2 guys on the sideline and 1 KO'd guy). Some blocks are thrown elsewhere, Groclaw the Loner manages a Dodge and GFI to help mark up the Bmen who could possibly harrass my ballcarrier. Ro-fagors gets up and tried to blitz the cage but fails a GFI and faceplants infront of Sorruk the lineorc. The Orcs continue to hold the ball just short of the line and some more bashing goes on around the pitch until finally on the last turn, Gramnast runs the ball in and scores. (3 more SPPs to bring him to 8 and levelling up). One thing of note though on 3 Chaos Blocks, they broke Orc armour 3 times in a row! Stunning two Black Orcs and smashing the hip of the Orc Loner! 2nd Half: With the Chaos boys receiving and the fact that they outnumber me 11-8 this is going to be a tough half, but I do have the lead so the Rampagers can't be dilly-dallying around. The kick off is a High Kick, which lets Tro-nogors catch the ball and cage up with 4 Chaos Warriors without the risk of picking it up. On the LOS, one Black Orc is taken down by a 1D block. The rest of the Bmen take up position around the pitch to open up the possibility of throwing the ball, but also means that the Orcs have to spread their sparse numbers over a wider area. The Orcs try to mark up as best as possible, but Laly Tusk, freshly back on his hooves after spending half the game KO'd, blitzs Gramnast out of the way (another 1D block) and makes for the line to possibly act as a receiver. Ro-fagors uses up a reroll dodging free on the left side of the pitch, and La-nogors tries another 1D block only for it to turn up Attacker Down. No real trouble though as the cage is still solid. Here the Orcs make a mistake and mark up each man of the cage, though there is two downed Bmen nearby who can help open up a gap meaning the other markers won't be able to help when Tro-nogors advances away with the ball. But it doesn't matter as he runs forward, throws a quick pass to Laly Tusk, who not only catches it in a tackle zone, but dodges out and runs it in for a TD. 1-1 on turn 11. Things are looking grim for the Chieftains but even though they are 3 orcs down and with only 5 turns left, they are receiving. The Kick Off is Cheering Fans again which gives the Rampagers a reroll (totally cancelling out the inducement I bought at the start). But anyway, the Orcs on the LOS flatten most of the Bmen opposing them and the rest of the orcs try to cover the ball, but Gramnast fails the pick up. The Chaos Warriors, once again skirt around the edges of the LOS and make directly for the Orcs who are trying to collect the ball. Pi-fagors does manage to take down Galth (Blitzer) who is my most advanced Ag3 player. I'll have to try free him up to act as receiver... I take a wee risk here, by man-marking all the Chaos Warriors who are running at the ball. My LOS Black Orcs do manage to free up Galth to Blitz the last Bman on the right, but only succeeds in pushing him back. As he isn't free yet, Gramnast grabs the ball and heads back for his own endzone, hoping to receive options later on. Scruffy (not his full name), blitzes down Marfak, a reroll is needed as the first result is 2x Attacker Down; the second result is only a pushback. Belmoth the Chaos Warrior advances on the orc thower and La-nogors cuts off Galth again so there seems no way though. Leth also damages Riknast back, giving him a permanent Niggling injury. Since my guys have obviously forgotten their armour today I decide to hold off on the Apothecary once again as I suspect that more serious injuries are on the way. Things are definately looking bad for the greenskins, so it was time to run the gauntlet and Varag (Black Orc) manages to free up Galth receive, who will then be able to run for the line. It will be a long pass or I can GFI to make it a short pass. I eventually decide on the short pass option, so Gramnast runs forward to make the pass only for the newly freed up Leth to snatch the ball from the sky with a natural 6. INTERCEPTION! I had no choice but to pass it over his head but seriously you don't expect him to roll the 6. ![]() Fiddlesticks (only I didn't say fiddlesticks), so Leth immeditately tries to hand it off to Belmoth who is within sprinting distance of the line, but fails with a reroll and the ball lands at their feet. Gramnast decides to risk it, and tries to pick it up in two tackle zones (5+ with reroll, 3+ dodge and 3+ throw should send me on my way), but the pick up fails, leaving the ball in the tackle zones of two Orcs, but said orcs are toe-to-toe with Chaos Warriors, who effortlessly shove them aside and allowing Scruffy to pick up the ball and sprint for the line, only to fail his second GFI and land on his tail. Chaos only has one turn left, so I have to try to make sure they can't score, in a risky move I dodge Gramnast free of his Chaos Warrior marker (using up the reroll for the turn in the process), he picks up first time and then lobs the ball long (using a Pass reroll) to Galth on the halfway line who fails to catch the ball. Tough for me but at least it should be a little harder for the Rampagers to score. Ty-nogors manages to stun Gorfang, before Leth proceeds to shove Galth off the ball and this allows Pi-fagor to pick up the ball, run forward and hand off to Belmoth (who is in a tackle zone); Belmoth dodges free and makes two GFIs to score on Turn 16. Gah! 2-1 to the Rampagers. The last turn was fairly meaningless, though Sorruk the last Lineorc on the pitch does manage to make a throw for his first SPP Retrospectively, I really should have had Apothercaried Badhag, I didn't think -1Mv is THAT bad; but a Badly Hurt might have meant I wasn't so badly outnumbered for the rest of the game. But defo should have used it on Galth, he is my most advanced Blitzer and a Niggling will mean he will be less useful in the future. Thanks for the game Raven; you have avenged your Chaos Ratmen from the last season. At the time I really thought I had atrocious luck in the game, but upon watching the replay I see that the luck was fairly balanced except in cases of breaking armour (which was definately going against the greenskins) and throwing (which was all in favour of the Chaos boys). Like my last throw, was 3+ dodge (Team RR used), 3+ pick-up, 4+ pass (Pass Reroll used) and 4+ catch; and I fail 3 rolls. But Ravens last throw was 3+ pick up, 4+ catch, 3+ dodge, 2+ GFI and 2+ GFI; and he doesn't fail once. Who said maths and statistics had anything to do with this game. That all said, the most annoying thing is that another loner has stolen my MVP, so my team is really struggling with SPPs. Last edited by Thanatos; 5th September 2010 at 12:40 PM.

Sorry for being a little longwinded but it was a very tense game and I wanted to try and translate that into the report. It was a good game, and even though I lost I did enjoy it after I realised I wasn't as screwed over by the game I thought.

Well, I had a great game with Jrpeart. I may do a fuller report later, but suffice to say, my team has now gathered as many long term injuries as games played, and about the same number of SPP's (4, after game 3). The final score in this game was 1-1, though I had a chance to win on a desperate pass on the final turn. Interestingly, up until my penultimate turn, I had 2 journeyman lineorcs on 2spp and 4spp each, with the one on 2spp in place to receive the final throw. I was now worrying about whether I'd have the cash to hire one of them after the game, and buy an apothecary (sorely needed). Well, jrpeart solved that quandry by killing the lineorc on 4spp on his penultimate turn. The 2spp lineorc failed the catch, leaving the game tied at 1-1. He also received the MVP. Obviously, I was planning on hiring him, and gaining my first skill up, but the cyanide game didn't seem to give me the option (anyone know how to do this?) and another 5spp slipped away down the drain. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, in my excitement at us managing to overcome the port forwarding issues, I forgot to spend any of the 170,000 in inducements I was due for the match, further hindering me. To be fair, anyone I could have hired would probably have stolen a bunch of spp and walked off into the sunset anyway...

Well with 170k in inducements you could have bought a lot of different things. A Scroll is 150k, though the Orc Scroll is kinda rubbish (a 70% chance to give all your players Frenzy for 2 Turns). As for buying Journeymen, I had the same problem last game. A loner stole my MVP for the second game in a row! The one thing I do know is that you have to have the money to buy them before you get your winnings.

Runty Gitz vs Slug Emz match report. Runty Gitz receive first. A High Kick is wasted as the ball was due to land on the Looney anyway. I make a rookey mistake and fail to protect the ball before starting my actions . Fanatic burns a reroll to achieve a push on a BO before pushing a different BO into the LOS between the 2 Trolls and next to the Looney and ball. The Looney stuns him and a Troll downs the last LOS BO before a gobbo fails to pick up the ball turning over with a wide open loose ball.Slug Emz clear the area round the ball, mark up the Gitz players and pick the ball up with a Blitzer. A Troll blocks a Loner LineOrc getting Both Down KOing the LineOrc and smashing the Trolls collar bone. The Apothecary rushes on and gaffer tapes him together again meaning he can return next drive. Slug Emz set up a half cage down field after clearing the only nearby gobbo with a blitz and mark all remaining Gitz players. A gobbo attempt to dodge in to mark the ball carrier ends with him being badly hurt and allows Slug Emz to run in the TD. 1-0 Slug Emz. A quick snap from the Gitz allows them to protect the ball. A gobbo cage forms up midway in their half towards the right and set up a loose screen in front. Slug Emz push and down the 2 Trolls before marking and blitzing the screen. Gitz cage moves forward and more centrally to the LOS. A Slug Emz Blitzer blitzes his way into the cage. Blocks down several gobbos and both Trolls. the ball carrier is left marked by 2 players and all running lanes are covered. Both Trolls stand up, one of them using the opportunity to break a BO jaw. The ball carrier and 3 other gpobbos successfully make at least 3 dodges each to set up a cage beyond the LOS. The 4th corner of the cage fails one of his dodges however and badly hurts himself. SE block their way into the cage, down a Troll and mark the rest of the cage. A Loner LineOrc breaks a gobbo collar bone (causing him to be retired ) before the Thrower dodges in to blitz the ball carrier just getting a push.A Troll attempt to throw the ball carrier burns a reroll to get the gobbo to successfully land the fumble. The ball carrier dodges out and into scoring range and the rest of the team mark up the Slug Emz. 2 Slug Emz gobbos combine to blitz the ball carrier getting a Both Down wich KO's the RG player. Gobbo's blitz the ball free and one dodges free picks the ball up, and goes for it twice to score. 1-1 The Slug Emz attempt to do maximum damage in the last turn of the half ends early with a both down. The second half starts with the Slug Emz Thrower failing to catch a high kick, but he picks it up successfully afterwards allowing a cage to form on the left of LOS. The Gitz form up to slow the cage with a Troll next to the cage and a gobbo successfully blitzing into contact with the ball carrier. While trying to advance the cage the Thrower fails a dodge. Trying to retrieve the ball a gobbo dodges in, picks the ball up and stuns himself on his dodge out. The ball does bounce to one of his teammates however who catches it. SE blocking fails to prevent a cage forming on the right sideline but does virtually surround it. A couple of turns of blocking later a Slug Emz Blitzer manages to block the ball carrier, knocking him over and catching the bouncing ball. They also leave the Gitz with only the Trolls and 1 gobbo standing. Unluckily for them standing gobbo is next to the ball carrier and with several gobbos standing up to provide assists he gets downed. A gobbo then picks the ball up in a TZ, dodges out and hands off to a teammate who drops the ball. Slug Emz surf a couple of gobbos, KOing 1. They also down a few gobbos with blocks and a blitz and mark up the ball before a Loner LineOrc stuns himself while badly hurting a gobbo. This takes him up to 4SPP. Troll KOs a Blitzer before a failed dodge ends the turn. Loner LineOrc(2SPP) runs free to act as receiver, the Troll gets downed and the Thrower picks up the ball, before all the remaining Gitz gobbos are marked up. A Troll stands up to blitz his way next to the ball carrier. Gobbo v gobbo blocking badly hurts a Slug Emz gobbo and one gobbo goes deep to look for an interception (he couldn't quite reach the receiver to mark him.) With time running out the Troll is blitzed off the Thrower who breaks clear and therows a long and inaccurate pass. With no chance of scoring the Gitz set about removing Pandas dilemma about whether to hire the 4SPP Loner with the Troll knocking him over before a gang foul kills him. ![]() The last action of the game is a failed pick up. Final score 1-1. This game was a typical greenskin game becoming a series of risky move after risky move. In the first half the offensive risks payed off and in the second half it was the defensive ones. All in all a very enjoyable game with some good banter and discussion of team tactics.

Batten down the Hatches vs. Ama´r Treehuggers United as seen by Gunnar Longtounge. Gooooood evening sportfans and a warm welcome to this nights late match where elfs meet humans. Gunnar has been looking forward to this game since last weeks disapointing no show. But we are ready tonight and TRE has desided to kick the ball. And the kick is away, the ball lands close to the side line and Hanibal blitzes Thorn Apple for an early KO. Johnny Concrete takes the ball and runs back to King Vic for a handoff, BUT look at that the King drops the ball. He is looking at dazling Gunnar instead of playing ball. TRE sees an opportunity an rush forward and little Oak snatches the ball from the two confused humans and hands it to Fathom the wardancer. In good Gunnar hero style, Murdok takes on Fathom singlehanded but only manage a push. The rest of HAT swarm Fathom. Avengelyne tries to push Fathom out for an easy dodge, but she is downed by herself and Hannibal takes on Fathom alone with great succes. In all the confusion King Vic ends up with the ball and he throws a mighty pass to Strider and he dashes for the endzone. TRE runs back like nuns to a shrine. FOULPLAY FOULPLAY - stupid ref sees nothing, the humans jump on every wardancer available and KO´s Avengelyne, and finaly the ref note the foul deed and send of Jobber Harris. Gunnar thinks the ref should send of the team. Meanwhile Beech Leaves gets a blitz in on Strider, but he downs himself instead and this leaves Strider with time to make the TD. 0-1 ![]() The Elfs set up to recieve with only 8 minuttes to halftime and without Avengelyne. They try for a strong right side approach. And some payback as mighty Rosebud KO´s LOS human Goochi. TRE takes full advantage of this and flood the right side. Bullseye gets the ball and looks for an easy pass to Fathom, but he fumbles - what in Gunnars name is going on with the elfs? HAT close in and marks all elfs. There is only two minutes left and Fathom blitzes Strider away from the ball. Bullseye takes the ball in a tacklezone and makes a pass to Birch and with a dodge and desperate running he makes the last two meters just as the half is over. 1-1 ![]() What a hero move, Gunnar will be back with more right after this from our sponsors: Frisante Drinks Inc. proudly presents our new megacaffeine jug of ultra rich coffee. As we say Drink Frisante - Do stupid things faster with more energy We are back and Gunnar can tell you that both teams only start with 10 players and the humans make a perfect defence but a rather short kick. The ball is right behind Rosebud and Fathom takes it and passes to Bullseye. The ball safely tucked away Rosebud KO´s Goochi again and TRE enters the human half. Fathom runs with them and Bullseye sees it and he makes a pass to her. Human hero Hanibal KO´s Populus Alba and marks Fathom. On the line The Professor fractures elf scorer Birchs leg, but this can not prevent Fathom from blitzing Hanibal away and run in for a TD. 2-1 ![]() This gives the Elfs a morale boost and all come out to play, Goochi however does not want an ekstra dose of Rosebud. This leaves TRE with 10 and HAT with 9 halfway throug 2nd half. The elfs kick deep and rush forward to intercept the ball before the humans get control of it. Avengelyne having gulped down two jugs of Frisante goes for a full Gunnar and blitzes a human into the ball, then she jumps into a tackle Zone takes the ball, but trips on her own feet and the caffeine overdose chock her system. This incredible stupid atempt leaves the elfs up a certain creek without a paddle. King Vic swoops in and gets the ball, soon it is passed to none other than hero Hanibal and as Date Palm falls over his own feet Hanibal makes the equaliser as the ref ends the game. 2-2 DOOH Stupid elfcoach messed this up, but Fathom the Wardancer now has +ST and Doc. KillémAll is a member of the team.

Great report, I'll let you write up all of my matches from now on. There were some big errors on both sides. I hit accept with my attacking formation (a big gap up your right after my sending off) and kicked in a terrible formation allowing you to score almost unchallenged. Second half you got greedy and went for it, flooring your Dancer and changing a win to a draw in one play. Your blocks were awful but my ball handling/movement were terrible. My catcher failed consecutive dodge rolls over 2 turns and you got a couple of double skulls. Those elves were tough SOBs. Only one injury despite my best efforts to turn it into a brawl. A good draw, Im desperate to get a win now. Thanks for the game.

From reading all the match reports so far, it seems that the last leagues results have been turned on their head: 1. Raven is causing the injuries, rather than suffering them; 2. Coachman is yet to win a game (last league he beat every opponent for the first round); and 3. Thanatos was slaughtered by Raven (although true to his form when playing as Delf, he still cant seem to throw and catch the ball). ![]() Keep the match reports coming guys. ![]() N. |
