| Greetings, I've been checking into this site for a few years now ever since I discovered Blood Bowl on the Xbox 360. I've recently purchased the Legendary Edition for my PC and have delved into a Campaign with a Norse team named The Chimaeras. I've begun reading the forums after digesting almost every article I could find by Coach on the home pages and my interested has been most piked by the online leagues. I have a few Questions, such as to what exactly CTA, CC (Crunch Cup), FUMBBL / Cyanide are? and perhaps more importantly, where to begin my integration to the online playing of Blood Bowl. As to what CTA the CC, and the two playing programs/websites are. If you simply pointed me in the right direction I may well find my own way. Tusen takk |

| Basically you have public leagues where you can play anyone through Matchmaking. (Auld/Naggaroth/FOL) CC = Crunch Cup is the private league we play here. There are others like OCC for example. Usually you have a season... structured games. CTA is a friendly "non-calendar" league of those who play CC... we just play if we meet someone there. Its like a private Auld.

| References to Cyanide refer to the computer game version of Blood Bowl, produced under licence by French software company Cyanide. There's been 3 versions so far - the original edition (included 8 of the Blood Bowl teams from the rules), Dark Elf Edition (added Dark Elves) and Legendary Edition (added more teams to bring 20 of the 21 official teams into the game). Its worth noting that Legendary and the other editions aren't compatible with each other and about 99% of the game population now play on Legendary Edition, so if you go looking for it, that's probably the one I'd advise buying. For the PC It's available either as a disc or via download through Steam or I think directly from the company. - see Blood Bowl The version by Cyanide is also available on XBox360 and on Nintendo DS, but these are based on the original edition and have very poor reputations for bugs as well as limited multiplayer functionality. References to leagues operating by playing the Cyanide computer game include: CC - Crunch CUp - our own community tournament CTA - Crunch Them All - our own community open league format allowing pick up games for anyone online looking for a game. OCC - Orca Cola Championship - a large multidivisional league (6 tiers, 250 players total plus feeder entry league) - see Orca Cola Drink Now - Pay Later SSC - Snotling Soda Championship - feeder entry league for OCC. Auld - Auld World - An open league for pickup games for any player on Cyanide. Nag / Nagg - Naggaroth Open - An open league for pickup games for any player on Cyanide. FOL - Forum Open League - An open league for pickup games open to any player on Cyanide but administered and monitored by Forum members to reduce issues with Cheats and so forth. There are many more. ![]() FUMBBL is an unofficial and unlicenced computer game version of Blood Bowl that has been around for quite some years and having been a major contributing factor to Blood Bowl still having a community playing it some years after GW stopped supporting it in any notable way. It's a java webbased client I believe, so fairly usable by all, but with limited graphics as you'd imagine. Not tried it myself, so that's all I know.

| Fumbbl has some advantages over Cyanide's BBLE, like less bugs, more user-friendly client (with the ability to stop and resume matches) and all 24 (21 official + 3 unofficial) races implemented, but suffers from poor graphics and not all skills yet put into the game (there are 5 missing). Welcome to the forums.

| - BALL AND CHAIN - BOMBARDIER - FAN FAVOURITE - HAIL MARY PASS - PASS BLOCK So basically, don't play Goblin. And the fumbbl programmers seem to be in the camp of "Pass Block is a useless skill"

| Thanks for the help. I currently have the LE edition of the PC game, and have been playing against the AI. I believe I have a decent grasp of the standard strategies for both offense and defense, for/against pass/run teams. As such I'd like to expand my playing to PvP match-ups and rather than play 1 offs, I'd like to join a league. I'm most interested by the forum based leagues, the Orca Cola Championship sounds interesting, the tiers remind me of the Football League Championship (Which it likely draws upon for its name). Its something I believe our Tier system for Major League Baseball severely misses out (Feeder leagues of AAA, AA, A not doing a damn thing to stop a team like the Royals from tanking every year). I'll be checking out the link provided, then returning to post any new questions I have. |

| Didn't realize at first that OCC was an offsite league, though it still has my interest, I'll have to sit down and navigate their forums to better acclimate myself to their rules and league. Could anyone give me more information on our very own Crunch Cup, and CTA? I understand the CTA is simply for playing against Crunch Cup / Forum members abiding by Crunch Cup league rules. However how does one join either? Is it as simply as signing up on the CTA forums with a team? Or does one need to be accepted into the next Crunch Cup to be allowed to participate in the CTA? |
