Hi there. I'm new to GW games and in fact have only been playing the PC version of Blood Bowl, and I've got some things right and some things wrong. For example I developed a Chaos team that was basically all-killer. I never bothered to address their ball-handling skills in favor of racking up casualties. It worked better than you might expect and was eventually a lot of fun but you can imagine what the Skaven and Wood Elves did to me. My current team is Wood Elf and its going great. The site led me to consider skills like Wrestle (before I was obsessed with trying to give every player block). The SPP's seem to be getting distributed evenly around the team, and everyone is level 2/3. Tend to score whenever I get the ball, which is quite often with the Wardancer. I just have one more problem, and something I don't quite understand. At the moment it seems like every game the opposition have a ridiculous amount of inducement. Every team I play seems to be able to draft in a star player twice a season against me. I think I've been fairly conservative with my spending. Every player on my roster has been developed from scratch, I've got a healthy fan factor of around 11/12 without investing a penny on it, and I've invested about 300k on re-rolls. That's over four seasons on the campaign. Last season I topped the league and won the play-offs for the third straight season and started the next one with a budget of 0. The opposition regularly hit me with a flood of pre-game inducements and this is the only front I can't compete with. Is there something I'm doing wrong in terms of money regeneration? I'm panicking a bit because soon I'm going to have to renew the contracts of my entire squad, and at present I can't even comprehend how I'm going to afford it.

I can't help you regarding paying your players and all that (I don't generally use Blitz rules, I tend to play classic) but if you're playing single player then it's going to be a fact of life that your TV is going to be massively above the comps and there isn't much you can do about it, it's just how things work. There are tips for keeping your TV low but frankly it's just not reasonable to do so in Single Player. Basicly all you can do is make sure you don't have more then 11-13 players (depending on how worried you are about having replacements) and after that... Regardless I wish you luck, and welcome to the forums.

Fair enough. I figured it was something like that but just wanted to check I wasn't missing out on a pot of gold through being an idiot. Just played a Skaven team with Headsplitter and a Rat Ogre and when I checked in more detail they had about 6 with loner skill which means they've only got about 5 actual players on their roster. With that in mind they're welcome to all the extra cash. I've got 13 which allows for a bit of flexibility but it's clear to see where the disadvantage comes from. Reckon I'll switch to classic myself. Starting out the extra 50k you get from a sponsor just seemed too good to pass up, but as you progress it starts to look like small change. Thanks for the feedback anyhow. Like I said, I've only been playing for a couple of weeks so having a site like this has been invaluable in getting to the stage where I can enjoy the game. It's a shame though. As your players level up you start to get really attached to them. Last edited by Barninho; 15th August 2010 at 03:09 PM. Reason: An afterthought...

I know what you mean, heck even when they don't level up I get attached. I have my whole Dwarf team memorized. Anyway, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, there are plenty of people who would be more then willing to answer any you might have.

| Welcome to the forum, like Murkglow said I'm not sure how many people play the Blitz mode. I certainly never have and I write with the board game in mind. Not sure how the Blitz rules even work actually!

To be honest I'm getting more and more convinced Blitz rules are not the way to go. Basically you get a sponsor and you have to set yourself targets. If you hit them the sponsor offers you more cash the season after. At the moment mine is very chuffed so he offers 100 k at the beginning of the season. In post-season you can buy players who are already developed, but I'm not keen on this as you have to negotiate a wage which seems essentially random. You can buy players at level 6 after your first season but it hurts when they die, I can tell you. Also the builds seem to be quite weird and random too. Still, if you're just starting out like I was the extra 50k feels helpful but all the players start with 5 year contracts, so it's dawning on me they'll all be out of contract at the same time (presumably). That is definitely a major flaw in terms of long term planning. Think I've got to decide whether to keep my developed wardancers and throwers and such who form a crucial part of my strategy, but leave them with naff all protection from undeveloped linemen, or vice versa.
