| Hi everybody, I've known this site for quite some time now, first only the articles and player/race guides before realizing quite late there also is a forum to read ! Quite interesting readings in here. I just love to follow the stories of coaches and their beloved teams. I know Blood Bowl thanks to Cyanide. I bought the first edition about one month after its release. And now, I'm a huge fan who can't believe he never heard about this game for so long ! Back then, people told me Humans were one of the easiest race to play with, so I've learned the basics with them. (aah the old first days when I found the ai to be hard to beat...) But new players like their pixels a little too much, and I was no exception, so in order to avoid injuries and so, I switched to Orcs, Dwarves, Chaos and Lizardmen. Time passes, and you start to love your team more than your players. If one dies or has to retire, so what ? Finding the best way do deal with that is really fun too. But I felt like I was missing one big feature of the game : the passing game. And because I wasn't so much attached to my players anymore, I started to play Wood Elves and Skaven in the MM environment. And while I just love all the possibilities that AG4 players offer, I ended up with just 2 or 3 players on the pitch a little too many times for my taste. At that time Legendary Edition was about to hit the stores, and I knew from the race descriptions that I would become a High Elf Coach. And do I love them ? Hell yeah !! I'm only playing in 2 private leagues, so 2 games a week. And it's just the right amount for me. Almost no MM, nothing else. The well-known OCC (playing in Div3 and fighting for one of the 3 promotion spots. "Fingers crossed") and Franco Bowl (one of the biggest French league there is). Both HE teams have played approximatively the same number of games (21 & 24), and have lots of cash. But one has rolled many doubles and 2 +AG, while the other one just got his first double and his first +AG. While their TV is quite similar (2060 & 2040, iirc) even though I developped them the same way, they're very different, and I oddly find the one without the doubles to be better... or easier to coach. Go figure. Squale. Last edited by Squale; 23rd June 2011 at 01:45 PM. Reason: Proof reading |

| Hi Squale, Nice write up there and thanks for signing up. You're in a good place living in Belgium for access to table top tournaments too. If you haven't already check out the NAF World Headquarters :: Blood Bowl, get a cheap team off ebay and join in the fun a weekend of beer and Blood Bowl brings! There are a few in Belgium each year and your close to the ones in Holland, France and a short ferry ride to some of the UK tournaments too. It's also nice to see some more support for the underrated High Elves!

| Hello Coach, I'm still not planning to buy the actual board game and a team, simply because I know no one around me that plays Blood Bowl. But I know I will, eventually. Even if that team takes dust on a shelf. I've checked the NAF, and it is indeed quite an official site : many players, many tournaments, and from many different countries... really big. I've missed the Beer Bowl, as it appears it takes place during May. One month too late. However, there's one thing missing, at least for me : In every tournament I've checked there, you start with a fresh team, and the usual TV of 1100 + 5 skills. And well, I really like to develop my teams. Both of the 2 on-line private league I've joined play a perpetual championship, and that's what I really like. Ok, maybe at some point, the admins will consider a reset, but right now, I don't see it happening. I've also watched a lot of games played by Enarion and Flix, since those two have so much success with their Wood Elves teams. Maybe one day, I'll become as good as them. Soon, I'll introduce both teams I'm coaching, as they are developping quite nicely. Squale. Last edited by Squale; 24th June 2011 at 08:02 PM. |

| Hi Squale, I don't know your other league, but can say for sure that the OCC is unlikely to ever force everyone to start over with new teams. We have a few stubborn diehards with teams that have been around since the league started. So you'll be able to keep your current team gioing as long as you want (unless something happens to the Cyanide servers). |

| Nice to hear from you. Heres hoping you get promoted. Tier2 is the place to be, we may even get to face off. It also has the best admin team ever assembled...
