The old javabowl client and the Cyanide game you don't have to declare the actions.

You can move someone make a dodge with them and then hit someone afterwards. Same with Passing / Hand Offs. You don't have declare which you are doing or if you are going to do it. So again you can try and dodge with someone, then if you used your Dodge skill on that dodge and needed to do a further one, you can change your plan and decide to use someone else to pick up and pass with.

The actual rules you need to declare the action you are doing with someone before using them.

While this is true for passing and hand-offs, blitzing is a special case in the Cyanide game. You can't choose to blitz after you've started your move, and you have to specify and confirm the target in advance. Certainly I'm grateful as a newcomer that it's a little more forgiving with the passing etc.

No you can't, you must declare blitzes before you move, if you move even one square (even accidentally) you can no longer blitz.

Fair enough, still I find that a fairly minor problem and hardly something that will make someone a noticably weaker player. Just need to remember to declare actions, ok, I can do that.

It can actually cause you to lose matches, if you forget to declare the pass on your last turn of the drive that you needed to do in order to score.

Most coaches though will let you do the pass as long as you haven't rolled any dice with that player yet. Against newer coaches they may also let it slide a couple of times while they are learning the rules.
