Default Human team for GF13 Mermaid Bowl in Copenhagen
Hi there I have to play GF13 Mermaid Bowl in the first weekend of October.

I have desided to start with humans. The rules are: 1.1mill to create the team and I have to choose between 4 different skill options for my team. They will not get skills during the tournament. Only one skill to one player.

Before every game the team gets a random 50k card.

Option 1, five normal skillrolls
Option 2, 3 normal skills and a 10 (6+4)
Option 3, 3 normal skills and one Double
Option 4, 1 normal skill and two Doubles

I think option 1 is the best. My first attempt looks like this:

1 Ogre
4 Blitzers, 3 x guard and 1 with Tackle
1 thrower
2 Catchers, 1 with wrestle
3 Linemen
4 Rerolls

2 cheerleaders & 2 coaches or 4 Fanfactor or starting with 1.060k TV?

If I take the extra staff, I think I will have a good chance to get the kickoff rerolls regardless of fame, but with 4 FF I stand good chances of getting fame and even fame2.

Starting with 1.060k TV would only be to stop others from getting inducements, but I do not think it is likely to mean anything.

Comments would be nice

Brio

Frenzy may be an option instead of Tackle, it won't be useless against teams with no Dodge and makes you a threat at the sideline.

I wouldn't not spend the 40k, surely no one is going to under spend in order to get inducements at 1.1mil. I would take 2 Fan Factor and then a Cheerleader and a Coach.

11 players is a bit risky you might want to consider dropping a reroll for an apoth, especially handy now you can keep a KO on the pitch in the second half

you might be able to make up that reroll with the fans/cheerleader/coach anyway

I also agree that frenzy might be a useful skill to take, can't really fault your choices though pretty solid picks

It might be worth jiggling about to get block on your thower if you plan to use him as ball carrier for obious reasons. I personally I would also take 12 players as humans can get badly beaten up against the more bashy teams.

Thanks for advise. Have desided to go with Frenzy instead of tackle and swap a reroll for an apoth, I take the apoth over an ekstra lineman because of the ability to keep a KO player on the pitch.

I wil get 1 coach and 1 cheerleader and 2 Fanfactor.

Once again thank you

Good luck netsmurf!

I'd also go for option 1 but I'd be inclined to put leader on the thrower in place of the wrestle on the catcher (unless there's more to that then I'm seeing) a skill for a reroll is a bargain and it could even be worth considering dropping another RR for another lineman as leader would bring it back up to 3.
