Hi guys,

I'm in my late 30s and live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, although I am in fact Irish and spent most of my life in Ireland and England. I first played Blood Bowl when it originally came out in '87 or '88. I also bought the first Death Zone expansion and loved the game even in its infant state way back then. After school though I completely lost touch with it and only came back to it again last year thanks to Cyanide's version.

Currently I play in a couple of online private leagues - Orca Cola (4 seasons there) and the New Ogham league (2 seasons there and 1 in the original Ogham league). I also play the occasional Match-Making game in the public league, when in need of a BB fix! I often post on the Cyanide boards and occasionally leave comments on this site too. Looking forward to discussing the game with you guys.

Cheers

danton

I have seen that some people who are based over here play the game online, but have yet to see any evidence of a TT scene. There are people that play other GW games here, but GW products are expensive and hard to obtain in this part of the world.

Wouldn't mind trying to set up a club or something one day, but would need to find a couple of other players first and have at least one set of the TT game, which won't happen until the next time I am over in the UK!

For now the Cyanide version will have to do, even though it is incomplete and full of bugs, I still get a lot of enjoyment out of it - especially in private leagues where you avoid cheaters and time-wasters. Looking forward to when LE comes out and really hoping it lives up to expectations...

Did you ever get round to installing the Cyanide game Coach, as I know you had a copy of it at one stage?

No, don't know why I bought a copy, not really got the time to play online.

Sup Danton,

You do get around a bit. I'm bjj hero on the cyanide game and I think you helped me out a bit getting ready for my dwarf match this season.

Good to see you again.

Hey coachman,

I recognized your avatar from the OCC. You coach woodies over there if I remember correctly.

Are you going to change for LE?

A lot of people will be changing teams. I just think that I would get bumped up with the established 4+ season teams if I keep my Woodies and get obliterated by more developed teams.

I'm getting attatched to my woodies now, I finished 3rd and have one of the highest TVs in my division. Having said that I think I'll be going Nurgle.

A complete change of style.

What about you?

Want to keep my dark elves for now. I very narrowly missed out on promotion to div 1 with them this season and have another shot at it next season in 2A again. I'm still enjoying playing with the team a lot and they still have a lot of room for improvement as a team, so unless things go very pear-shaped I will keep them for a season or two more at least I reckon.

After that I would be tempted to start a Necro or Pro Elf team, although I would like to try all of the races in MM when LE comes out in order to get a good feel for them all and that may well lead me to favour another race. I'd also be tempted to play a race that is not over-represented in the OCC, as it makes it more fun to be in the minority.

Thats what scared me off undead. I can see there being a lot of undead teams. Who will be under represented? My guess:

Ogre
Khemri
Lizards
Halflings
Goblins
Humans
Vampires

Im waiting to see which league I'll be dropped into next season and how well developed the teams are. The last guy I played was Orcs and he had enough in inducements for Morg. The poor guy got smashed 3 nil. He did kill one line elf and retire another though.

I did see your match report and Tome of excellence submission.

You will probably be in something like 5A or 4D I imagine. Teams normally go up slightly more than anticipated due to people dropping out or re-rolling new teams. There should be teams with reasonably high TVs up there, so I wouldn't worry about giving away too many inducements.

It is difficult to see which teams will attract few coaches, although I imagine that not many people will flock to the races you mention. Having that many races to choose from will definitely make the privates leagues and MM a lot more interesting though!
