| I rolled a rookie Nurgle team for CTA which represents my first foray into online Blood Bowl. Not having played BB against anything other than the AI for ages I'll probably get utterly destroyed in every match I play, so with that in mind I've decided to start this thread to keep me motivated in the face of crushing defeat after crushing defeat. Some might say that choosing a Nurgle team would be giving myself an added handicap, but I like a challenge and love all things Nurgle even more. So, without further ado, I bring you the chronicles of Mercy Flush. There's no overriding theme for how I named the squad. I rolled a Halfling team once and, to offset the sheer nightmare of coaching them, adorned the little guys with the most ridiculous names that I could get past the profanity filter, which helped somewhat. In the case of Mercy Flush I just chose names I like from films/tv, etc. 1. Dug (Beast of Nurgle) - he's just met you and he loves you. 2. Zapp Brannigan (Warrior) - in the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces. 3. Ron Swanson (Warrior) - wants all the bacon and eggs that you have. 4. Brock Samson (Warrior) - the one-half Swedish, one-quarter Polish, one-quarter Winnebago murder machine. 5. Kronk (Warrior) - break the door down? Are ya kidding me? This is hand-carved mahogany. 6. Atomic Wedgie (Pestigor) - named for his signature takedown move. 7. Herk the Horrible (Rotter) - as a zombie Herk was something of a superstar in my Necro team. Every match, without fail, something dreadful always happened to him and he always came back for more. In every BB team I create there will always be a space for Herk. 8. Crabby the Unremarkable (Rotter) - he's crabby. Unremarkably so. 9. Jonas the Stinker (Rotter) - Cyanide came up with this one all by themselves. 10. Pope John Paul II (Rotter) - probably deserves to be more than a rotter. I hope he doesn't curse me for it from beyond the grave. 11. Gabby the Annoying (Rotter) - named after my boss at an old job. I hope an ogre steps on her. The starting rotters got specific names for the most part. When they start dying chances are I won't be bothered coming up with new ones for their replacements. Except Herk. Herk will live for ever, one death at a time. So, aye, bring it on. |

| Always nice to have new players in CTA! Have you played against any humans at all, on tabletop for example? From your comments it would seem not, so I'm going to assume that's the case for a while and suggest that if you do get utterly destroyed, make sure you ask your opponent for tips during and after each match. Everyone on here is always happy to show off-- uh, help out. Also CTA matches can be fairly hard to come by, so if you want a game at a specific time then it might help to make a post on the CTA thread beforehand with what times you're looking for. A lot of people won't sit in the game lobby just hoping someone else turns up.

| Nice theme and i must say that i am a massive Futurama fan. I just bought season 5 dvd and am enjoying watching the new episodes (well new to me at least). Regarding your team, do as rusty says and organise a match rather than just hanging around hoping someone will join. Nurgle are a tough starting team, but if you stick to the basics you hopefully shouldn't get too crippled. Coach has some great articles on this website (including a few nurgle specific ones), so be sure to check them out.

| I was going to put up a request for a CTA game a few days ago but then my internet got knocked out in the big storm we had this week and only came back this afternoon. I would normally be able to play weekdays starting no later than 1pm GMT. I could also play after 11pm but my connection goes a bit suspect in the evenings. If anybody fancies a game sometime give us a shout. Should be some easy SSPs for you ![]() Edit: + Futurama rocks! |

| I may be able to play a 13gmt game this weekend, but it depends on when my SSC opponent schedules our match. Will let you know once i have confirmed and will create a rookie team to go against your Nurgle. Do you have any team that you particularly want to play against? Im cool playing with any team.
