Default Mermaid Masters
Hi guys, we run a little test tourney 9. of April. The Copenhagen Mermaid Masters

Its a swiss draw tourney all the way, we just play five games all the same day.

Its a 1.1mill tourney

We have to choose between skill packs:

1: Five normal skills
2: 3 normal and one double
3: 3 normal and a 6+4
4: 1 normal and two doubles

Simple homepage for the tourney

I have entered with an Undead team and choosen skillset 1:
2 mummies with guard
1 wight with guard
1 wight with frenzy - hopeing to negate block and dodge with extra block dice
1 ghoul with block
then:
2 ghouls, 6 zombies (gives a few for fouling), 3 rerolls and 1 coach, 1 cheerleader.

I wonder if frenzy will be better than wrestle on a ghoul? Time will tell.

I'm shocked you missed out tackle, I'd expect a good number of blodge players and having 1 player with tackle is essential. I'd switch the guard wight to a tackle wight, I'd keep the frenzy wight to threaten on the wide zones and grab those extra dice and I completely agree with a block ghoul as he's a great candidate for ball carrier. Guard Mummies should make an excellent core to wade in with.

Im testing if frenzy will do the trick. Since this is just a five match fun tourney I want to see if it is good to have frenzy instead of wrestle/tackle.

The plan behind tree times guard is to set up easy 3 dice blocks for the mummies to use the mighty blow to full effect

This was fun allthough I lost my first two matches and only got a draw in the third.

First match was against a vampire team. He played them expertly (he won the tourney) I lost 1-2. He failed his share of blood lust but only stunned the thralls. And they had magic AV7 untill turn 15 where I got 3 cas. But by then I had 6 players in my KO box and could not score

Second match was against a skaven team. I lost 2-3 and that was just frustrating, even my opponant could not belive my dice versus his dice He ended as #7)

Third match and I was down on the losers table playing a Slann team. It ended 1-1 and in second half I would have won easy if not for five times and lastly also a single (he finished last in the tourney)

Fourth match was against a human team. I managed to stop his drive in the first half and then I did a perfect grind to win 1-0. He had horrible dice and I had good ones. The match ended with him having only 5 players on the field (he ended as #8)

Fifth match was against a norse team, he was in second place at the time. However his armour 7 was no match for me and after 2 turns I had removed 5 norse from the field and gained a new zombie The kick was very deep and he made the mistake of screening to far away from ballcarrier and I smashed the screen, applied preasure on the carrier. Then I used my 50k card it was a sweet little pitt trap and the ball was lose.

I got it and scored and then I grinded the second half away for a 2-0 win, he finished third and I ended in fifth place. Not to bad as I had only played the 4 CCIV matches with undeads before entering this tourney. The win was important for McFood as he then finished in second place and we shared the second price candy

Skills worked like a charm, but in future tourneys with this format I will change the guard on the wight to a wrestle on a ghoul. Frenzy was very good at taking out dodge or block and the mummies where in control with guard.

Yay go Vampires!

Out of interest do you know what roster and skills he took?

I'd certainly advocate protecting your Ghouls more with Wrestle or Block, Wrestle obviously helps against Blodgers. Not sure I'd prefer Frenzy over Guard though, especially if facing other teams with Guard.

4 Vamps all with dodge and 2 thralls with wrestle. 14 players in total. Vamps got an extra skill in this tourney. Think he had an apoth. He had 3 rerolls.

Having slept a little again I think I would remove the guard on one of the mummies to get a wrestle ghoul. Guard on a wight is more usefull and flexible, but frenzy worked like a charm.
