Painting - Netsmurfs feeble attempts to paint mini´s

So it finaly happend, I have started to paint a little and in order to keep my self going at a slow but somewhat steady pace I thought that a thread with me commiting to show what I paint - could actualy help me keep going.

Feel free to comment and come with sugestions and critique.

First up is this weeks project, the troll I use in my current TT orc team: Red Unz go Fazzer. First picture is of all the base colours laid on him:

After that I washed with the GW washes and did the first highlight. Just adding a drop of white to the green paint. I use a wet palette by the way.

Then some extra white to the green and the final highlight of the green.

Next up is highlights of the other areas of him and painting all the little zits bright orange, just like they are ready to burst - thats the idea anyways

His working name is Grot and final on the base, with heavy inspiration from a flashy orc team from CCV - Grot da Pimp ´and

Nice stuff. I've just dumped some old 2nd edition Orcs and a Troll into nail varnish remover to strip them so I can try and get them repainted too.

He looks really nice.
Can't discern if he needs some teeth colour?
And there is something with the skull compared to the rest that somehow feels odd.
But excellent job. A lot better than my attempts

Whoa!

The first pic is about as well as I'd be able to paint..

Anyway, shouldn't he have some "Go faster" paint? He doesn't carry the team colors..?

He's already looking pretty good.
Myself, like Nikolai, I'd be happy if I managed to achieve the result seen on the first picture.

Thank you guys. The teeths and eyes are some of the last things I do. He will get white teeth. The skull is not highlighted yet on these pics. I hope to get the new pics up today. He is finished and getting coats of varnish at the moment, so just have to take some pics when I get home from work

That's some really nice highlighting on his flesh there. I find it hard to believe you've just "started to paint a little".

Using this wet palette thingie realy helps out getting the colours just right. In total I have painted a skaven-, chaos- and Undead/necro team. Roughly about 70 minis. I can post some pics of them. I think it shows a great improvement from them to this troll.
