Too bad about your loss, but Skaven can do incredible things if they get the right dice (or you get the wrong dice). You should look to score with your Catcher next game as he desperately needs block/wrestle. It shouldn't be too hard scoring with him vs Dwarf considering his movement is double that of a Dwarf Lino. Just be sure to keep him safe until you make a break with him.

No need to wonder given his sig request:

My team is inspired by Fat Tony from Springfield (The Simpsons), so it would be cool if he was on the sig. The rest is up to you.

Teamname: Fat Tonys Family
Race: Dwarves

Well, thanks no matter what.
And the sig Verbal made:

Frustrated again, have to walk away with a 1-1 draw despite having some chances to win. At first I was surprised by the inducement choice of the Halfling Master Chef, but it took away all 3 of my re-rolls in the second half and my first turn block took away the one I got from the kick off.

I'd have won comfortably if I had a re-roll - failed gfi to get to the endzone to receive a quick pass.

Still, catcher skills up with the touchdown and new blitzer gained the MVP to put him within 1 spp of skilling up. So that helps a lot.

Edit: The equalising touchdown from the Dwarves was a dodge and 2 gfi with no re-rolls as well, so feeling mildly cheated by that too.

Well, time to get a little advice I think.

My team as it stands is as follows:

Ogre - 11spp - Mighty Blow, Thick Skull, Throw Teammate, Bonehead, Loner, Block
Blitzer - 32spp - Block, Tackle, Dodge, Mighty Blow
Blitzer - 25spp - Block, Guard, Dodge
Blitzer - 5spp - Block
Blitzer - 18spp - Block, Guard, Dodge
Thrower - 19spp - Pass, Sure Hands, Block, +1 MA
Lineman - 22spp - +1 ST, Block
Lineman - 0spp -
Lineman - 0spp -
Lineman - 21spp - Wrestle, Tackle
Lineman - 8spp - Guard
Catcher - 8spp - Dodge, Catch, Block

8 Fan Factor
3 Re-rolls
1 Apothecary

TV 1580

(There's a handful more SPP sprinkled across, but I can't remember and my spreadsheet is on my dead laptop...) But the skills are up to date.

My opponant is currently at 1660 with a pending skill, I think.

His necromantic team is looking very scary.

1 Blodge Wolf
1 Blodge Jump Up Wolf
1 Guard Wight (I think, need to check)
1 Tackle Wight (Skill pending)
1 Block/Guard Golem (-1AV)
1 Rookie Golem
1 Blodge Sure hands Ghoul (I think, need to check)
1 Blodge Sure hands (+ST) Ghoul (eek!)
1 +ST Zombie
2 Guard Zombies
2 Rookie Zombies

With 2 +ST players (one of them a ghoul) and 2 guard zombies, this guy has been lucky on the skill rolls, but it makes for an extremely solid looking team.

I'm going to be out-strengthed and out-guarded, and with those blodge wolves I'm under threat from speed and frenzy too. He also has the numbers advantage, plus those nasty claws. In fact those two wolves are the highest spp players in the division.

My only saving grace so far is a lack of mighty blow, but its still pretty dangerous out there.

I have a choice with inducements, which will be around 100 if I have my maths right (I need to double check in game) but to me it comes down to a choice.

- Re-roll
- Apothecary
- Bribe
- Spend 70k Thrower or Catcher to bring me to 13 players.

I'm leaning towards not hiring a new player yet and keeping the inducements at 100, and then most likely the apothecary, since I am more concerned with surviving than winning, but I could be brave and choose a bribe and hope to get those wolves off the pitch.

So much guard... you'll have to treat him like dwarves... don't get stuck in a scrum. Don't make full contact. Wolves can be managed if you keep a good cage or protection... eventually the frenzy will put them in a precarious position... that is when you crowd surf them.

That FG without block is a good target... once he is down he is too slow to keep up.

What about hiring a Dirty Player lino? You can try and lure the WW's away from his team, bring them down and then foul them out?

Slightly risky alternative I admit.

Yeah, DP lino or a bribe I think is the way to go. You also have a very powerful team wirh all that dodge, and the tackle MB blitzer. Your wrackler lino also should be used to bring down ghouls and wolves, once on the ground, foul! That combined with your MB should be able to give yiu the numbers advantage.

Bah, miscount on my part - one of the Wights is a rookie and his TV was only 1650, plus the skill on the tackle Wight - he has now taken Mighty Blow - means only 1670.

90k TV difference, damn.

No bribe for me unless I splash out the cash, so might just hold out for the babe and save my money.

Plus now I have to worry about his Tackle/Mighty Blow Wight.
