| For our mudbowl I have started with an Orc team, I also play orcs in CCIII. Both teams is the same build: 4 BO 4 Blitzers 2 Line 1 Thrower 3 Rerolls and 10k in the bank for the apoth. I have never played Orcs but I have to play them at the World Cup so might as well start to practise. Played one match yesterday against a rookie norse team. He dominated me totaly untill round 7 where I finaly cracked the armour and sent out two players and in turn 8 I managed to go to 1-1 with a pass and a blitzer running for TD. Second half was mine and I hurt his team with another 2 cas and grinded for a 2-1 win. Scoring with another blitzer. Two of the BO´s got a cas each and one of the scoring blitzers and a lineorc. The MVP went to the blitzer with a TD and a Cas so I have my first Mighty Blow player. The thrower made 3 completions, a nice start on his season |

| Looks solid. Apo to follow then what, the Troll? So you can bench your kicker on offense. Goblins are fantastic for when you run out of ideas, but at the highest levels of competition, probably too much of a liability. What are your plans for Blitzer and Black Orc development? |

| I'm impressed at a thrower with 3 completions as well. I know they're not universally favoured but I do find they add more options to the team and its an instant sure hands skill which is always important. Best of luck in all your competitions. Never thought of mighty blow that early on a blitzer, favouring guard, but its useful to have a hard hitting blitz early on, so I might have to use that myself.

| Orcs are my second favorite team (after Amazon). I build the team the same way - it is a very strong starting line up. The norse are a tough team for almost any starting line up - it ends up being a very high variance game that often comes down to how armor and injury rolls turn out. I have mixed feelings about the troll. My orc team I play on Cyanide has the line up you show above, plus a troll (who has only guard). Their TV is about 180 and they are about 20 games in. Against skilled opponents, I find the troll tends to have about 1 turn per game where I am very grateful I had the troll. He will do something I may not have been able to do without a 5 strength guy, such as blitz a man in enemy tackle zones, take out that pesky tomb guardian, or fill in the crucial spot on that cage corner frustrating my opponent's plans. Probably a third of the game he is in situations where I am just frustrated with his really stupid negative trait. Sometimes he is by himself as the play has outpaced him running down field. It is not always worth it to commit a guy to moving next to him just so that he can reliably stand up or move. Sometimes it is just frustrating that he does not have block (a universal frustration with big guys). The troll's most consistent use is just parking him somewhere and making use of his guard. On the balance, I think the troll has a positive effect on the team, but I think I would do well without him.

| Had my second match today against a rookie Chaos Dwarf team. New to my team was the Apothecary Doc. KillémAll. It was a brutal match, my Mighty-blower made a -MV and a kill on two unfortunate Hob-gobs. Another blitzer made MNG on the third Hob-gob. The last one survived after a trip in the KO-box. He on the other hand made a kill on one of my BO´s and in came the Doc. for a MNG save ![]() I choose to kick to him and managed to take out his hob-gobs steal the ball and run it in with my thrower for a skill up. 2nd half the 1 cas blitzer was set up to recieve and he did it perfectly and made the pass to my thrower for a nice skill up. After a lot of dogfight my thrower Quick passed to a rookie blitzer and he ran in for the final TD. It was a nice match and multiple times did I catch him with a chainpush to free my ball carrier from a dodge. In the end the MVP landed on a BO with one cas for a nice skill up, and happy days was in for the orcs as he got 6+6 A reliable ST5 dude is like a nice wet dream. The blitzer and thrower got a normal skill up. So I will go for tackle on the blitzer. My thrower will get block. My plan for the next two blitzers is Guard. Normaly I think I would develope BO´s into BOB´s (block) first, then migthy blow and third skill Guard. I will save for the troll and just use him on LOS to suck up punches. Do not think I will get any gobbos for the team, have not desided yet. Two matches and four skill ups is more than I imagined or even dreamt possible. Now I have 70k in the bank, so with a little luck I have a troll after next game for two ST5 dudes on the line. Come on Khemri I dare you! - Dont think we have any in the club though so its kind of easy |

| So far my Orc team has had two BO's get doubles on skill-ups and for fun I went with Dodge to make them Blodgers. In hindsight Side-Step may have been a bit more useful but I could not resist the idea of Blodging Black Orcs ![]() I'm also not going to underestimate the usefulness of the short range throw with Orcs after seeing Netsmurf use it to such good effect against my Skaven. |

| Maybe 1 goblin to keep the threat of the 1 turn score alive!

| I probably shouldn't give you any friendly advice (as I'm gonna play later on with my Evil Knievel DE's...), but... Always(!) get a gobbo for an orc team (after the troll, of course). He's only 40k in TV which is a relatively low price for having him sit on the sideline and yell insults at the opponent, AND... You often get that round8 setup where you can use him to go for a one turn TD. Doesn't work most of the time - but it might just save your match. |

| Two matches yesterday with the green ones. First a non eventfull 1-1 draw against an Undead team and then a magnificent victory over Meister P and his Evil Knivel. After the match vs the Undead a lineorc got Dirty Player, his name being Ompa da Stompa so it fits nicely. He induced H. Heartripper - was a big mistake as he was one of my best men on the pitch, creating 2 first action turnovers to put me back in the driving seat. Oh and on my first turn I did a KO on him so he was out until 2nd half. All in all there was 4 cas all kills The elf apoth saved the first but the two others were beyond reach. Then they turned evil and right out killed my rookie troll and as he was not Grey my apoth refused any knowledge about his anatomy - Datz a ded troll if I ever zee un! Lucky for me Grot started to regenerate and he was soon back in reserves. From there he vitnessed a black orc catching a bouncing ball and then running in for the desicive win![]() He got the MVP naturaly and is now a true BOB. Ompa made a glorious tap dance on the neck of a DE killing it with out being spottet by the ref - its good to be more evil than evil elfs |
