I'd also suggest that the casualty rate increases when you take into account your own unsuccessful blocks - those attacker downs will have a rate of attrition, just as anything else.

Barmution, those 26 would be playing a very cautious game and reducing blocks. But I do play way too aggressively sometimes... especially trying to break cages. I've tried being more cautious and I continue to get way too many injuries. Being aggressive might sometimes reduce blocks suffered ?

Yep, those are successful blocks.

Also to substitute a perm injury of a 18 SPP player requires 2.5 - 3 games gold and SPP. (assuming 1 cas 1 MVP 2 passes) This is an attrition rate that keeps my team in the same SPP and gold overall. Without the occasional "easy" game Elves wouldn't develop. I got a lot of 4-0 or 4-1 at the beggining in lower TV. I certainly keep my injured players longer too.

And my team (The Sidekicks) has suffered 26 casualties (including at least 4 deaths) in 4 matches. What are the odds for that?

And more are coming. I'm playing against Vusfnuv's Chaos team tonight.
