Default ST1 Catcher with AG5
I was most elated when my Catcher received a AG+ roll for his first skill. Only to have that ruined when he got taken out in the first three turns of his next game. Apoth meant I could choose between death and -1 ST. Took the stat decrease grudgingly.

So, that now means I need/want to get creative with this guy:
8/1/5/7
Catch,Dodge,Sprint
130K

Fun Ideas:
Pass Block - Can Intercept on a 4+ with no TZs
Dauntless - Well, he'll nearly always get to use it, no?
Leap - Jump over anyone on a 2+

Practical Ideas:
Jump Up - He's gonna be knocked down a lot.
Fend - Keep him away from attackers
Block - Effective but boring
Side Step - Keep him out of trouble

If I get lucky enough to roll some dabbos on his next level, I'm considering Dump-Off to keep control of the ball when (not if) he gets taken down. Alternately, turn him into a deep passer with Pass.

Thoughts?

I like the Pass Block idea.

But Dauntless is no good as it doesn't work on Defence.

Personally I would have let him die like a man on the field. Str 1 means nearly everyone gets 3 dice on him. If I played you I'd pile him every turn using someone with block. He'll be off the field in no time, even at agi 5.

If I have tackle it gets even worse. Trade him in now before he hogs more ssp. Agi 5 also bloats your TV.

If possible use him as a thrower, otherwise he is just an easy target, but with the move he can cover your one half at ease.

Make him a thrower or go for the fun options, because with 1ST he's bound to die sooner rather than later.

Well, luckily we don't roll for MVP in our league. We nominate players who performed well and it has to be a justified decision.

The three-die block is what I'm really worried about, as you say coach. Not many in our league have tackle so dodge helps somewhat. I fully expect him to get targeted. It's the lack of block that's a little worrying.

I want to keep him around as I'm already running two Journeymen for my next game due to player deaths and MNGs. We'll see how he plays... ...

Its not just MVP he's hogging though. Every pass and TD he gets is one that a none injured player could have used the ssp from.

You are just waiting for him to get injured again and again. He is AV7 and eating 3 dice from every block. Looking into my crystal ball I see him spending a lot of time on your injured bench followed by an early death.

I feel you have two options with him.

1) Fire him - As mentioned above he'll end up stealing SPP's from your other players who need it much more.

2) Stick him on the LOS and deny Apothecary privilages - This will save one of your healthy players from getting smashed by the oppostion. With dodge and minimal tackle you mention he may even survive for abit.

I'm starting to lean more and more this direction...

I so hate to waste AG5 though.
