Another option: Give him sure hands and leap and use him to retrive the ball and then throw it out to a free guy. 3 TZ and he pick up on 4+

Another Idea;

Make him your sneaky git/dirty player. At S1 lets face it he's weak and will be targeted by the other side. With Av7 he wont last very long. Make him useful and annoying to your opponant without giving him too many SPP.

With M9 and Ag 5 + dodge he can go most places secure the ball and Handoff to a better player. As a sneaky git/dirty player he can still go for the ball but he could also be useful by removing players with good fouls. The other bonus is as a sneaky git/dirty player your opponant will target him and leave your better and stronger players alone!

Make him useful and annoying for his (I'm guessing) short life!

All great ideas, guys.

He's still 7 SPP away from a new skill and, as coach mentions, I'd rather that 7 end up on my more usefull catchers. So, I'll use him as my annoying ball-pick-up guy after my Wardancer has hopefully stripped the ball loose.
On Offense, prolly again the ball-pick up or secondary pass target and then hand-off to another catcher. That's 17 squares between two catchers without using GFIs (23 with GFIS)!

I don't know how often you roll 11's, but I think that AG 5 on a catcher is just peachy. Yes, STR 1 is a bummer but even still, it's not like she wasn't vulnerable before or you were going to start a blocking war with Woodies. Furthermore, with block or any of the already sugested skills, she could be a real nuissance for any opponent. She will draw lots of attention, keeping other players safe. She can perform any number of ball handling tasks top notch and still be on her feet (thanks to dodge and eventually block). So do not disregard her or think of her as hampering your TV. I personally think such a player adds character and background to a team, but that's just me.

That's why he's not been fired yet. Dispite what everyone has been saying, I still want to keep it because, well, AG5 is awesome!
I'm just not going to use him in such a way as to hog SPP.

Had my first game with the player in question back after his single MNG and it was against an Ogre team I've found success with in the past.

My plan for this player worked absolutely perfectly. Started on the kick and managed to get the ball fairly deep into the opposite end. While I had a few players get into the mix to slow down the cage creation, the AG5 dude stayed back along with my thrower and other somewhat vulnerable players. Playing against 6 ST5 players was a struggle at times, but I'd bring in the AG5 dude for assists on blocks or fouls as needed.

On Offense, I'd have him placed off near the sideline and tracking 7-8 squares behind some of my catchers who were streaming into the opposite side. When the time was right, my thrower with the ball two squares from my end zone, would dart over, pass to AG5 dude who would then dart through tackle zones and hand-off to the eventual scorer. This three pronged approach meant the Ogres had no idea which of the three key players should be marked and left a ton of open space on the pitch. Will update after my second game with this strategy.

Something like this: Full-Pitch Score

Glad to hear you didn't get rid of that AG5 . I really like your Full-Pitch Score Strategy, using her as the middle contact, dodging away between the defence and not hogging SPP. Still 7 SPP away from a new skill? Maybe you could make a pass or two with her, you know so as to have her 1 MVP away from getting there. Since you nominate players for MVP, you can be sure she won't get it if there are better options; but if there's not, she could gain a skill to help you with this strategy or others as well.
I once had an Armor 6, NI Wardancer with AG 5 that was legendary. I know STR 1 is really bad and that Wardancers are awesome, but I think Nuffle sees this kind of players with a benign eye, and allows them to become legends.

I play in the same league as Napking and one thing that I'd like to point out is that many of us are keeping our injured players. Mind you, Napking's player with the -1 ST is the only -ST in the league but there are several with -AG's and -MV's.

The problem that many of us are starting to face is this: We have several players with many skills who may have small impediments upon their abilities as above mentioned. In a league where the average Team Value is around 1 mil it's easy to drop a player. But when you're talking about Team Values in the the 1.5-1.75 range, dropping a player who has a couple skills can be detrimental.

Sure, you get inducements but what's a magic card, bloodwiser babe or even wizard going to do that will help against the onslaught of several players who have a few levels beneath their belts.

Besides, as it was stated earlier, these small encumbrances add character to the team. And what's a -1 ST when you're a competent coach such as Napking?
