Default Strip Ball vs Stand Firm
I need clarification of the rules on this cos it may well have lost me a game..

When blitzing/blocking a ball carrier who does not have Sure Hands but does have Stand Firm, would a result on the dice still knock the ball loose?

I need supported answers, not just guesses based on opinions.

Cheers..

It does work against Stand Firm. If you look at the rules it says: "When a player with this skill blocks an opponent with the ball applying a 'Pushed' or 'Defender Stumbles' result will cause the opposing player to drop the ball in the square they are pushed to, even if the opposing player is not Knocked Down".

Stand Firm says: "He may choose to ignore being pushed by 'Pushed' result."

So Strip Ball still applies, as what matters is the block die result and not whether it means they can be pushed or not. In the Sure Hands skill description it explicitly states that it negates Strip Ball, while this is not the case for Stand Firm.

In the Cyanide game this is properly implemented, as far as I can remember.

Similarly Frenzy works on a stand-firmer, even if they don't move from the spot.

Thats what i argued. But the league commissioner ruled that it cancelled it out.

He said that due to the rule stating that he "drops the ball in the square he is pushed to" he held onto it as he isnt pushed.

Your commissioner is incorrect.

And if he wants further proof:
From the man that wrote the rules:

He ignores the result not the fact that the result was rolled. Strip Ball is based on what is rolled ... not on what is done.

2. Since the ball only comes out in the square he/she is pushed to, and the standfirm player is not pushed to a square the stripball skill by its own wording wouldn't work.
He was pushed zero squares so the square he was pushed to is the one he is standing in.

IE ... Strip Ball works on Stand Firm just as Frenzy works on Stand Firm.

So the ball falls on his square and he will try to pick the ball up ?

If I'm not mistaken, dropping a ball in a square means it immediately bounces - otherwise every player would get to catch his own dropped ball on every drop not caused by a knock down.

By the way, I have a question regarding Strip Ball and Juggernaut - if I use both skills together and roll a which I treat as 'push' thanks to Juggernaut will the blitzed player drop his ball?

According to the rules, yes.
No idea if Cyanide implemented it correctly though.
