Default Stunty League Starting Roster
So as our work league hits its 4th week of play on the Cyanide client we have decided to start a second league. This one is a Stunty league. I have only played the stunty teams a few times against the computer and have had varying success. I was wondering if anyone that has played in a stunty league could offer up some suggestions for which of the three teams they think would play better in a Stunty league and what strategy should be employed in team building.

For instace in a regular league you would keep TV down on halflings for the inducements but in a Stunty league should you try that? what happens when two 670 Halfling teams meet?

The teams that are available are
- Goblins
- Halflings
- Ogres

Thanx

Goblins are probably the team that is most like a team, but they will have a hard time getting bribes meaning parts of the team will only play parts of the time..still, two troll and a pogo stick can take you a long way.

Halflings should probably stick to a 800-900 roster. A chance at a chef, and not much else to hope for. Yet enough rerolls to be able to take on the opposition with nothing but treemen and a will of iron.

Ogres might be the easiest. Snotlings run away from treemen and only take 2D from unasissted halflings or goblins. Ogres get three dice on everyone small, and can easily get 2D on most everyone big.

Part of me would ask why Dwarven teams aren't included, but they'd probably dominate the league.

While short, they aren't stunty, on account of not having the stunty attribute.

I doubt Lizardmen teams are allowed either.

I'd think the optimal strategy would still be to maintain a low TV, if only to keep your opponent from getting inducements either.

I decided to go with Halflings and went with the the TV600 starting roster... Should be interesting if I run into another low TV Halfling team I suppose I can use the cash to buy the pot for a game.

The Lollypop Guild (600)
10 Halflings
2 Treemen
1 RR
400k Banked

Heh. Only just saw this. I've entered the OCC stunty cup before now, was a lot of fun. I took a 6 ogre 0 re-roll build just because it was funny.

Games are chaotic and Hawca who ran it told me that normally goblins tend to do the best of the three stunty teams followed by halflings. (Skinks obviously not allowed. Even 1 Krox all skink roster tends to do better than others). So statistically it would be gobs, strangely enough. The secret weapons are probably at their best in this type of comp. Stunty players don't like chainsaws unless they are holding them. Also one of the better teams was an all snotling roster that took Morg every game as the only big guy.

Having said that the games are really unpredictable with loads of dodge, plenty of loner rolls and very little tackle so they can all go either way, and I think in a perennial comp Ogres would end up being the best at higher TV.

Also I'd be tempted to buy more players. The TV600 roster can be great if you're playing normal sides, but in these games there will be a lot of fouling so I'd be tempted to add more halflings and stamp the opposition whenever possible. A lot of teams will start at a low enough TV so you can't afford all the inducements you want. If you don't get Deeproot and a Chef there is no point in being tv 600. I'd just try and keep 100 spare for the Chef myself.

So far only one other team is currently signed up.

TV990 Halflings... 13halflings, 2 treemen, 6 RR.

I can also change my team any time before the league begins so I have a week or two yet to decide if I want to change my team around. I am going to watch the other submissions and see if I should go low TV or not.
