Yes folks, some of you have been waiting for it, others are too busy, but that won't stop it The UEI Crunch Cup XIII is coming right up.
It is not the Skaven-led first UEI, nor the Elf-ruled second UEI. Nay, this is the third coming, and it means death. And with the number XIII on top of that, we expect even more death than usual. (Even if we have to add it ourselves).
(I'll write it again, a bit bigger)
the UEI: Crunch Cup XIII
The Structure:
As with previous Crunch Cups, this season will be divided into a divisional group stage and a play off stage with the top teams from each division progressing to play in the knock out matches until the final is reached and an eventual winner.
As has been the recent habit, in order to increase flexibility the league will be managed in two parts using Cyanide. The group stage will be played in the league UEI: Crunch Cup (Group Stage) and the Play Off process will be played in the league UEI: Crunch Cup (Play Off Stage). This will allow for a flexible number of divisions to fit the variable number of applying teams and Play Off places to be determined on a more flexible basis depending on the number of divisions.
The Group Stage and qualification for Play Offs:
The group stage will include divisions of 8 teams, giving each coach 7 matches played on a weekly basis. Teams will be assigned to divisions by manual seeding as determined by the League Commissioner in order to match similarly experienced and developed teams to the same divisions and allow newer teams a fairer chance of success by placing them in divisions of the closest peers.
The playoffs will have a straight elimination ladder. The amount of teams in the ladder will be the multiple of 2 that best fits to give at least 1/3 but less than 2/3 of the teams a place in the playoffs. (By the nature of things there should only be one such number.)
In the event of having an unsuitable number of divisions to just cull the top teams of every division into the Playoffs, the remaining places will be assigned on a Wild Card basis, with the top non-qualifying teams assigned places based on their point score regardless of division. If possible wild cards will face the nearest available wild card from a division above themselves, and be slotted into the playoff schedule like that. If the amount of divisions is odd, wildcards will instead be facing off against division 1 teams (but what a chance at instant glory).
The Rules and Eligibility:
Full rules, including the eligibility requirements for teams to enter the Crunch Cup, can be found in this thread:

All coaches registering an interest in the Crunch Cup will be required to sign up to the UEI: Crunch Cup (Group Stage) league in the Cyanide game by the deadline (to be set shortly, once interest has been gauged, but sometime during February). Failure to sign up in game will see your application ignored in favour of coaches further down the list.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis, however if you are currently coaching a team in CTALE please feel free to reserve your place even if you are unsure whether that team is the one you will be playing in the Cup.
All coaches should provide the following details below to register their interest:
Coach name (forum and in game):
Team name:

Right, that's it. The Crunch Cup 13 will be kicking off sometime in February, depending a bit upon how soon it grows to a suitable size. All applications signing up before the 25th of January should be able to consider themselves guaranteed a place in the Cup. Ask questions in the thread below. (And sign up in the thread below.)
