I think there must have been some CaD warning, therefore I guess nobody will upload them on open sites ...

Just a wild guess, but some users *may* have been able to save full copy of the leaks before they got removed from the open sites. None will share the file, obviously, for fear of legal retaliation. If you have specific questions, ask around. A resourceful user can probably answer along with a screenshot. ;)

A little late to the party but for players with defensive it seems to me like its main purpose is to protect itself, not to go around chasing players you want to mark so they lose guard. Correct me if I'm wrong but if a player with defensive gets hit, doesn't it still negate the guard of others trying to assist the block?

That makes it a lot harder to get anything other than a 1d block against it (assuming equal strength.) Especially if it's in any kind of cage.

So I think ball carriers and LOS are probably decent players to get it. And anyone else who is likely to get targeted a lot. That way they are harder to take down with just 2 other players, one on each side of it. Especially if those 2 have guard.

As an the absurd what if...can you imagine a LOS of 6 saurii and a krox each with defensive spread every other square? Would be tough to crack especially if they have block too. Of course once you do there's nothing but skinks to stop you, so not a great idea.

Anyway I haven't seen all the leaks so I may have missed something particularly with marking so let me know if I did.

I think you have exactly the right of it. Especially since it is an Agility skill you will mostly see it on catchers and elves, I imagine.

The defensive skill is great on any player that you want holding the ball and you will see runners taking it for example. I doubt that you will see allot of coaches giving defensive to player that don't have access to agility as a primary skill, that probably is too expensive both in terms of SPP and player TV cost, at least not as a selected skill.

A defensive player escorted by a player with guard will be difficult to deal with... luckily there are few teams with S3 runners/catchers that also get access to Blitzers with strength access. I can see teams such as Norse and Amazon being really difficult to get the ball from who easily can get S3 runners/catchers with cheap guard players protecting them for example, Amazon in particular could be quite annoying I guess. An Amazon Catcher with Block, Dodge, Catch, Defensive and Sure Hands protected with one or two Blodge, Guard Blitzers will be very annoying to deal with. Especially when increased strength is not widely accessible anymore either on fast agile players.

Elves surely can take defensive on their linemen as well as a way to mitigate guard to some degree, but I think that has a limited use to elves only. I don't think that you would ever see a line of Saurus with the Defensive skill, that just is too expensive in terms of SPP and TV cost to really be effective.

True but ST4 guard defensive will be amazing.
So if the seasons are long enough the Bob's , Flesh Golems and Chaos/Nurlge warriors will take it. Block,Guard,Defensive only problem is the amount of SPP they need to get.
ST3 defensive can be knocked away with a ST4 player but if that player is ST4 it gets a lot harder.

True... but is it really better than the same player having Block/Guard and +3 randomly generated Strength skills as those skills will also be applied way earlier and available in more games?!?
For how long will you be able to benefit from that third skill?

I think this is what is so interesting with the new rules.

Free BB merch coming with the release: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2020/11/06/celebrate-blood-bowl-in-style/

Team patches for the two teams in the box and ceramic chips (think casino / poker chips) with the BB logo and the skull from the centre of the pitch on either side.

Looking at the patches, I have a Gryffindor vs Slytherin feeling...

Maybe we can induce a Dumbledoore? :)

Fingers crossed my local game shop will get some, there's a huge number of people I know waiting for pre-order day.

Not that fussed by those pre-order bonuses though wouldn't mind the coin. Interesting to see that they mentioned that online sellers may also get something to offer. Wonder what that will be...?

I'm sure this has been covered several times here, but could someone give me a tl;dr about the redrafting rules (or link me to where I can read them)? :)

You get 1mil in coins to hire players with which you add to any money left in your treasury.

You can also add:
20k for each game the team played the previous season including friendlies
+20K for each game you won
+10k for each game you drew
The rulebook also suggests an optional cap of 1.3million

To do the redraft using that budget:
Assistant Coach and Cheerleaders cost 10k each to keep or you can let them go
Apothecary cost you 50k
Rerolls cost the same to keep (their standard cost no the double cost) or let them go

Players:
Cost their usual price + 20K for each previous season they have played a part in (even if it was 1 game)
Then after you hire them back:
Roll a D6 for each niggle and +1 if you have an Apothecary.
4+ result removes the niggle, 1-3 it stays
Do the same for any characteristic decrease (roll for each separately)

The first part about Niggling Injuries is true. However, only temporarily retired players can roll to recover for other permanent injuries, and if successful, the perm is traded for a Niggling Injury. Players can retire temporarily in the middle of a season. While doing so, they can’t play at all but still count as a player and a positional on the roster. Thus, a Wood Elf team with a temporarily retired Wardancer can only have one other active Wardancer on their roster, and up to 14 other players (total of 16 with active Wardancer and temporarily retired Wardancer).

This is an interesting point for long term leagues. Star player ruined? Can you afford to rebuild over 1 or 2 seasons for another run at the top (1 to turn the perm into a niggle, maybe a second to clear the niggle of you're cautious,).

Players:
Cost their usual price + 20K for each previous season they have played a part in (even if it was 1 game)

But does that 20K fee counts in their Player Value, or it is just an increasing fee you have to pay at the start of the new season only?
The manual does not make it clear. It does not mention any increase in the Player Value, it says:
"Players can be re-hired by paying their Current Value as shown on last season's Team Draft list, plus an agent's fee of 20,000 gold pieces for each previous season the player has taken part in."
