Playing TT is awesome. I love the interaction of your opponent face-to-face, and the fun of being in a tournament/league where you can share stories across the board, between rounds, or afterwards over a beer makes the social aspect so appealing.
That being said, I think that the online game...
I agree. Don't do it public at first. I'd do a one on one and play stupid. Act like you're trying to learn the stat system and some of the stats you've seen has you confused.
As him to explain how he calculates it using your team and his and see where he goes with it. If you're still...
I'm telling you. Having played enough of those pointy eared teams, they do more than well by keeping lack of contact.
Made one mistake last week and lost the ball ONE field from a TD. They grabbed the ball on the very next turn and ran it the lenghth of the field for a touchdown!!! This was...
Cool! That makes sense. Since I had passing yardage I couldn't calculate in.
Did the ole' rush the ball carrier forward to cut down on the pass length then let fly and the catcher took off from there.

Just curious. How do they calculate the rushing and passing stats in the Cyanide game? I checked the stats on my team, and I have ALOT more yards rushing that fields I've covered. Do they use a number where each field represents 3+ yards/field covered?

Jeff
BTW: Apparently when...
You almost have to put that Mino in the LOS or right behind so he's in close Blitz proximity, and even then he's a gamble on whether he wants to play well with others.
Thanks! I tend to rely on positioning to maximize my dice, even pulling players that are covered from one end of the line to plug a hole and increase my strength on blocks to get that domino effect of clearing the LOS. Nothing will break open for a cage like having half of the LOS on the ground...
Thanks for the input guys. I've been open to playing just about everything except those pointy eared wimps....erm... i mean elves. As my Minotaur likes to say... "Elf...mmmmm... tastes good on a stick!"
I have now signed up for Crunch Them All and...yes... I took an Orc team. Made sense...
The biggest plus on Chaos and biggest drawback I've seen is the Minotaur and its "Wild Animal" trait. You almost HAVE to move him first in order to be able to decide what everyone else is doing. If you hold him back to place a decisive blow, he inevitably sits on his butt and roars.

Nikolai,
I don't mind losing on the board at first, as long as the team advances and we inflict a nice amount of casualties. Blood for the Blood God! lol There's a certain amount of satisfaction is leaving elven bodies lying in the casualty box even if the pointy ears put points on the board...
So I bit the bullet and bought the Cyanide game. This is helping tons with getting used to the 3rd Edition style of play, and trying to figure out what is working best for me.
I've found that my instincts are taking into playing a bashing and possession type of team. What would you all...
