    Heyo all.
I've been reading, responding and inquiring to a bunch of other threads on this forum so I decided to give my team a little spot here.
I play in multiple online leagues but this blog is for my team in Blood & Snot, currently three weeks into Season 7.
    Nasty Cheese Nurglers
    [IMG]
They are in the top tier (Marienburg) of B&S this season, competing for the league championship. Here are the other teams in Marienburg:

    Skull Crushers Squad - GhoulChewer
Shadow Pawns - Captain Bonehead JB
    Unimaginable Scale - Ruiner
    Ash Foundry Avalanche - Yeti
    Pillowfight - Marlei
    Wyvernmount Waraxes - Whitehowler
When the season started there was also Limp-Wristed Elf Lords - Bathoz but he quit for the season after a Week 1 loss. Unfortunately this gives everyone two "bye weeks" and six points instead of the high level of competition that Baz usually brings to the pitch, but what can ya do?

I'll be trying to do weekly updates and match reports, wish me luck!

Coach Nod paces back and forth in front of the team, a wicked smile on what passes for his face these days. (Grandfather's Embrace is a glorious thing, but not always good for the complexion.)
"WELL DONE NURGLERS, well done indeed! These old enemies of ours haven't been around us for quite a while, and they've had a great amount of success here in Blood & Snot, but we handled them...er...handily. I'll admit we were a little rusty at the start, not having played against the Pawns in many seasons, and giving them an open sideline to run down when they received was possibly a mistake
    [IMG]
but it was a calculated risk that paid off! Giving them the open line put us in a position to attack their key players, and their fearsome storm vermin was overpowered by our Stank Sancerre
    [IMG]
(OOC: #03 Hank The Hammer Casualty : Pinched Nerve -> Miss next game )
meaning we'd have the Piling On advantage while that rat sat on the sideline.
One of their throwers scored the quick TD
    [IMG]
(OOC: Touchdown by (15) Bolt Thrower!!!)
and the fans were so upset they rioted, giving us more time on the clock to strike back!
They tried to get revenge for Hank by stomping on Stank
    [IMG]
(OOC: #06 Stank Sancerre Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect
    #06 Stank Sancerre Regeneration (4+) : 5 -> Success )
but that wouldn't keep him off the pitch for long. Our captain, Ardi Gasna, was enraged by the dirty player tactics and made his displeasure known
    [IMG]
(OOC: #13 Scracthy Casualty : Broken Ribs -> Miss next game)
and the Pawns fouler was in such a rush to get away from the wrath that he tripped
    [IMG]
(OOC: #12 Doctor Lawn Casualty : Smashed Collar Bone -> Loses 1 point in Strength)
and most likely ended his own Blood Bowl career. The damage didn't stop there as Stink Siraz landed a mighty blow on their other Storm Vermin
    [IMG]
(OOC: #04 Marvin Kamprat Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect)
and we marched on. Berkswell the Black-Hearted, always one to sniff out the ball, took out the thrower who scored against us
    [IMG]
(OOC: #15 Bolt Thrower Casualty : Pinched Nerve -> Miss next game)
and during the worst of the bloodshed our rotter Tuknail threw a misguided block and let a linerat get the best of him as they both downed
    [IMG]
(OOC: #04 Tuknail Casualty : Gouged Eye -> Miss next game)
That one mistake aside, we marched determinedly down the field and near legendary Stunk Sardo took us into halftime with a tie score.
(OOC: Touchdown by (05) Stunk Sardo!!!)
Second half was more of the same, and we spread out to get the ball as we outnumbered the Pawns by three players.
Tynn Grug got his pain tally in
    [IMG]
(OOC: #08 Rock Ford the 2nd Casualty : Fractured Leg -> Miss next game)
and Stank Sancerre got revenge for the foul on him by recruiting one of their linerats
    [IMG]
(OOC: #02 Dimwit Casualty : Dead -> Dead : #06 Stank Sancerre uses Nurgle's Rot.)
Shadow Pawns didn't have enough bodies and weren't able to protect their players. The infamous Tito was the victim of a few fouls from our squad but the best we could do was
    [IMG]
    (OOC: #06 Tito O'Cheese Injury : 6 + 3 = 9 -> KO'd)
A desperate last ditch effort from the formidable rat ogre almost did the team some irreparable harm
    [IMG]
(OOC: #08 Stench Selva Casualty : Dead -> Dead
    #08 Stench Selva Regeneration (4+) : 6 -> Success )
and that close call was addressed swiftly and decidedly by Stink Siraz
    [IMG]
(OOC: #01 Squinty Rampage the 2nd Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect )
With time running out, and the pitch cleared of skaven (save one cowardly miscreant...)
Stunk Sardo walked in the go ahead score
    [IMG]
(OOC: Touchdown by (05) Stunk Sardo!!!)
The dwindled numbers of the Shadow Pawns roster encouraged Tito O'Cheese to stay over in the KO box...
and we have our first win of the season in the first week of the season. I'm proud of you, Nurglers, and our new sponsor Hobwaffles is ecstatic! ("damn that Mortimer and Mortimer solicitors" he mumbles under his breath)"

"A tough contest next week and the week after, the Ash Foundry Avalanche are not to be taken lightly, so let's get ready..."

"It was important that we set the tone in this game, my Nurglers," exclaims Coach Nod (a particularly nasty pustule on his upper gum had recently burst, so it was easier for him to speak than usual) "and I think we did JUST THAT! We lost the coin toss and that was the last of our misfortunes for this game. The Avalanche tried to bully us around but by midway into the half we were starting to gain control. Stink Siraz removed their mutated freak
    [IMG]
(#06 Mylonite Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect)

and shortly after Stank Sancerre took out their berserker bull centaur.
(#03 Phobos Casualty : Serious Concussion -> Loses 1 point in Armour Value)

As we waited for them to make a mistake, one of our rotters stood too close to the sideline and was mobbed by a group of AFA fans
    [IMG]
(#15 Gorg Onzola Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect)

Their star hobgoblin Chert tried one trick too many...
...which let the agile Stench Selva grab the ball and deliver it to Stink Siraz...
...who put us ahead just before the whistle.

Avalanche knew they needed to get desperate so not long after the second half started they had one of the Disciples of Hashut throw a fireball onto the field knocking down everyone...
...except for Stench Selva who calmly caught the bouncing ball.
Inspired by Selva's composure, Tynn Grug smashed down a dwarf
    [IMG]
(#09 Skarn Casualty : Smashed Hand -> Miss next game)

helping to clear a path to the endzone.
Normally we would have ground it out, but their dwindling numbers and enough time on the clock to try to achieve a certain something meant we lined up on defense once more. Relatively quiet most of the game, our beast Berkswell the Black-Hearted made his presence felt by killing their best hitting dwarf
    [IMG]
    (#08 Harzburgite Casualty : Dead -> Dead
call on their Apothecary to attempt to heal #08 Harzburgite.
#08 Harzburgite Casualty : Smashed Hip -> Loses 1 point in Movement Allowance)

who if not for the team apothecary would be sitting on our sideline next week. As AFA's desperation grew, so too did their risks, and it did not pay off for them in the slightest...
...but it did put us into the position we hoped for. As time was running out, we gave a farewell boot to the face of their other bull centaur, hoping to injure him for next week's match...
(#02 Hephaestus Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect)

and with a handoff from a rotter, Stunk Sardo, long time stalwart for Nasty Cheese Nurglers, ran it in for our third touchdown of the game...
...and sealed for himself the status of being a Legendary Blood Bowl Player...

Our first Legend, with more to follow, we're proud of our Pestigor and his name will forever be recited in the Throne Room of One Thousand Afflictions! Celebrate now, Nurglers, but keep in mind we have these same opponents next week, and anything less than a walk over their beaten and battered remnants will be unacceptable!"

Due to a family illness Yeti has to forfeit Week 3.
So we'll be taking a sim win into Week 4 against Whitehowler's dwarfs. His squad is impressive with 4 +ST players and the usual Guard spam. His rookie runner has a roll pending so looking like a minimum of 2210 tv. Depending on what happens with the sim win random spp NCN will be around 2230 tv. No inducements for either side and not enough in either treasury to bump it up so hopefully we can claw out a few of his players before he whittles us down too much.

Great reports! I love all the pictures (though keep them in spoilers in case im using my phone :p) Your beast is awesome btw though you do need to level some rookies up by the looks of your squad. How do you find levelling new players on a team with several stars, I often find it difficult especially if my opponents are of a high quality (as I always find is the case when in a league and have reached high TV) I really struggle with getting spp on them as its so hard to justify using them over my experienced players due to risk factor?

Thanks. I'll try to do a match report for each week, win or lose. It's a 14 week season with two "bye weeks" due to the dropout coach but I hope to keep the enthusiasm for reporting going. I saw that "pictures in spoilers" suggestion somewhere on this forum a long time ago and it will be the norm for my posts in this thread.
I wholeheartedly agree! Berkswell has been around since team creation and while a few coaches have told me I should have taken Claw on the second double, that Pro skill has gotten me out of many a situation and I don't regret it at all.
The competition level in B&S has been excellent and it's called Blood Bowl for a reason, lol, we've churned many a rotter which is why I have so few skilled ones. I retired our team's all-time leading hitter at the beginning of the season because I didn't want two warriors with a move bust and the retired one also had a niggle. Leveling rookies on an experienced team is tough, but there's ways you can try to get them more spp. Setting up 3d instead of 2d blocks, that kind of thing. Also, since they're a rookie, you can try a few more riskier moments with them because you can always buy a new one :skull:

My Week 3 forfeit win yielded no levelups (despite 5 players who would have bumped if the random spp had fallen on them, Nuffle!) so we're going into Week 4 as is.
I dumped a rotter and the coach and cheerleader giving me exactly 50k in inducements. Having some babes against a dwarf team is not a bad thing...

Coach Nod addresses his team. "I wouldn't say I was worried, our success against the Chaos Dwarves proved we could stand up to those short bearded buggers, but I will admit I was concerned. The Waraxes are a formidable team, dominating Kislev last season and one of the sturdier teams in all of Blood&Snot...or at least they used to be. We won the coin toss, and I knew our best chance at winning was to get some of them off the pitch quickly, so in a surprise switch I elected us to receive instead of the usual defensive start. Turns out it was the right call, with Tynn Grug getting it started early by sending one to the box with the second block of the match
    [IMG]
(OOC: #14 Thungrim Irongut Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect)
It didn't take long until Stink Siraz contributed
    [IMG]
(OOC: #08 Barlin Broadshield Casualty : Smashed Collar Bone -> Loses 1 point in Strength)
and the dwarven thick skulls were a non-factor as five others were knocked out during the drive. The numbers advantage made it a walk-in for Stench Selva
    [IMG]
and we led 1-0 at the halftime whistle. Waraxes had a two player disadvantage for their receive, and the kick was back to just inside their end zone, so they set up a solid backfield cage as best they could. That let us creep up and attack them, Stink Siraz leading the charge this half
    [IMG]
(OOC: #07 Norar Stonewall Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect)
They pushed around a couple of Nurglers and their runner made a break for it, but unfortunately for them their superstar slayer. Durgrim Dok-Troll couldn't keep up...
...and our designated fouler, Tuknail, made him pay for his clumsiness...
(OOC: #02 Durgrim Dok-Troll Casualty : Broken neck -> Loses 1 point in Agility)
Our rookie warrior got beat on by the remaining dwarves
    [IMG]
(OOC: #11 Tomme Brulee Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect - Regeneration (4+) : 5 -> Success)
and Lou Pallou showed his displeasure
    [IMG]
(OOC: #12 Elric Redbeard Casualty : Dead -> Dead)
The killing of one of their players sent the Waraxes into retreat mode and a failed catch let the Nurglers recover the ball, allowing us to focus on more hitting, which Stank Sancerre was very happy about
    [IMG]
    (OOC: #01 Zharrgrim Dreng-Troll Casualty : Dead -> Dead)
Knowing that the Waraxes had a bye next week, we kept up the pressure and got another dead dwarf out of the effort
    [IMG]
(OOC: #10 Skalrak Skullcracker Casualty : Dead -> Dead)
Knowing it would enable him to train to the next level, we handed off the ball to a rotter
    [IMG]
(OOC: Touchdown by (16) Kopanisti Mykonou!)
and finished the game. Two to zero, two levelups, three dead dwarves, a very good game for us, Nurglers!

Next week we face one of our most hated rivals, Unimaginable Scale, so let's take today to celebrate in the Throne Room of One Thousand Afflictions for tomorrow we prepare for lizards..."

    Two levelups
Wrestle rotter got a normal, took Fend.
The +AG/Block Pestigor rolled a double, so now he's a Blodger, yay!
Sitting at the top of the division with 12 points and only one other team within a win of us. So far so good!

Next week is Unimaginable Scale - Ruiner whom we have a lot of experience playing against. Giving him about 270 in inducements, but his team has taken some heavy losses this season so he's looking to survive. He'll most likely take apoths and babes. As long as we can bend and not break and get ahold of that saurus armor with some Claw, we should be okay. We're scheduled to play on Sunday 15th at 2 pm eastern

Well, it's only the second touchdown we've allowed this season, and we have plenty of time to equalize so my confidence is high. We set up our offense and start our march, Tynn Grug taking out one of their best saurus

Things are looking good until one of their skinks, Abba Lamma Dama, made an unexpected stand against our own Stench Selva

ending our chances at scoring before the half.
Second half, we start strong and move into their midfield, doing a great job until our rotter Tuknail goes down
    [IMG]
(OOC: #04 Tuknail Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect)
but that doesn't stop our advance. Stink Siraz, furious that he was scored on during the first half, enforces his wrath on the same skink that stopped our first half drive
    [IMG]
(OOC: #12 Abba Lamma Dama Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect)
and our captain, Ardi Gasna, contributes to the cause by removing another saurus
    [IMG]
(OOC: #03 Zen Zowe Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect)
A slight miscue by our rookie warrior Tomme Brulee (OOC: Double Skulls) let the desperate lizards get the ball on the ground, but Stink Siraz continued his enraged mission, killing the skink that scored
    [IMG]
(OOC: #10 Trayzen Casualty : Dead -> Dead)
who was lucky that a wandering apothecary had been hired by the Scale...
(OOC: call on their Apothecary to attempt to heal #10 Trayzen.
#10 Trayzen Casualty : Badly Hurt -> No long term effect)
...otherwise he'd have been dinner for some Slime Hounds. The ball bounced around eventually landing into Tynn Grug's pox-infested claws and he took full advantage, scoring the tying touchdown as the game came to a close.
So, yet another draw against these blasted lizards, who despite whatever beating we inflict...
...we just can't seem to beat them!
Regardless, we remain undefeated this season and on the top of the Marienburg standings. There's only one team that can challenge us for points, Pillowfight, three points behind us and yet to play their match for this week. As it so happens, we play Pillowfight next week, so let's get to training, Nurglers..."

So 1 levelup from this game, "Mr. Skink Hunter" himself, Stink Siraz.
I planned on making him my second Clawpomber but then it got interesting when he rolled a 6+4.
    Skill?
Piling On here I come! Or so we thought...
    Armor?
Nah, 8 is fine and there's enough claw in our tier to make it a wash.
    +Movement Allowance?
This does have some great utility. I use him as my safety, so MA 7 would mean he can cover from the middle without needing 2 GFI. MA 7 also means a 2 turn scoring threat that doesn't need GFI, something which NCN doesn't have.
People are griping about my beatstickness already (22 casualties inflicted in 4 games) so let's take the +MA.

What do you think, was that the right choice?

Nice match reports, an interesting style! Always nice to see a lot of fun cas (as Danton mentions, especially dwarf cas :p). I reckon you're right to take the +MA, gives you more options and speed is definitely something Nurgle can always use more of.

I like the choice of +MA, I'm a fan of giving the bashy teams at least an option of playing the ball.

I also do like the match report style a lot, very nice to read :)

So next week is a pretty big match. NCN faces Pillowfight
    [IMG]
a chaos team built to inflict pain. Great ball handler, amazing big guy, lots of mighty blow and claw and piling on.
Both teams are atop the standings at 13 points, so this game could be HUGE in terms of championship aspirations. There was a 40k difference in team value so I dropped my Asst Coach to make it a babes.
Gonna need Foul Appearance and Regeneration to be really good this game, better start thinking about what I should do to gain Nuffle's favor.

His team has a much better SPP distribution than yours which is your biggest concern on the other hand hes carrying a crap ton of injuries. It goes without saying to target those Niggles of his with MB quickly to gain a player advantage. I would suggest setting up frenzy traps for the Mino and then a good dose of head stomping to remove him. He has a few players built to cause damage but the real danger is number 7 who will need dealing with asap.

His team does not have anything amazing but still is has less of the core skills on its players than I would have expected where instead killing skills have been chosen, especially in terms of pitch control as he has no Juggs, no grab, no SS, no fend only 1 wrestle and little Stand firm. He also has only 7 guard (I realise 7 seems a fair amount but the last chaos team I faced of a 2100kish tv had 11, any less is a bonus in my opinion) and just 1 ball carrier, with a beast that could be used as some sort of a stand in at best so his offensive options are limited.

He has a general lack of defensive skills also with just 1 dodge, 1 wrestle, no fend, sidestep, jump up which combined with his Av decreases and niggles will make sustained brawls very dangerous for him.

Looking at the teams I feel yours is far stronger as it offers far more options to you the coach, also his one player that has been developed unusually is the ball handling beast but due to Nurgles innate skills as well as a complete lack of receivers once committed on offence with the ball he will have no way of moving it to a different part of the field to switch play and take advantage of your biggest weakness - low movement.

The teams strongest area is without a doubt those warriors as a group they are truly dominating so it will be key to not give them free blocks, make sure you chain push them away from the action at every opportunity and split them up, isolating them from there team mates at which point you can either deal with them or leave them out of position to support the drive effectively.
