BBTactics League Name Suggestions

    I'm working on various options with regards to creating an "official" league which will probably start when Legendary edition is launched. Though this does depend on how well it works...

    Being looking at using BBmanager though hosting it with stuntyleeg.com might be best as you can also control the rosters on there as well.

    I'm after suggestions for names for the league though, or just anything I can brainstorm from. BBTactics Blood Bowl League [BBTBBL] isn't very catchy now is it, I'm after something more creative.

    From reading the great match reports some of you have been posting I'm sure some good ideas will come forward.

    First idea: Bloodweiser League - As it is popular to have sponser names for any league these days.

    2nd.: Xtreme Living - Since life on the pitch can be very short, but intense - and undeads are coming to the game and for me that is living a bit extreme.

    3rd.: Coach´s Schoolyard - As we all learn from Coach.

    Well this is a little start, will come up with more

    Think I've settled on FOE - Fairground of Engagement

    I like FOE as an acronym

    Fairground : an open space used for a fair or exhibition

    A nice play on stadium and it is a game, fairgrounds are meant to be fun.
    Also the background to Blood Bowl now suggests that there are stadiums around and teams travel to play in them rather than a team having their own stadium. So "The Fairground" can be the BBT stadium

    Engagement : an encounter, conflict, or battle: We have had two very costly engagements with the enemy this week alone.

    Quite fitting I think, war and such like goes too far away from the sporting aspect, I think engagement fits nicely in the middle.

    If my group wasn't already using it for the vanilla PC BB, I'd suggest the Roll-n-Garrote.

    Also known as the 'Tennis Tournament', because, in the words of one fan, "Tennis da min'mum numba of cashulties dat keeps us fans from riotin'!"

    :)

    edit: I've just noticed that it acronymises to RNG, which for this game seems pleasingly appropriate.

    I didnt notice this thread until now.

    I like Coaches Schoolyard, although perhaps that sounds a bit too pretentious. Fairground of Engagement FoE is also good.

    Or you could just call it the BBTactics League. Its simple and straightforward and unlikely to get confused with any other league out there. Actually it would be my preferred choice.

    Any idea of when you are likely to start the league?

    I need to get a copy of LE first to do some more testing with stuntyleeg.com.

    Been trying to get others to do some test games playing direct rather than on the Focus servers but not had any success with that. Want to ensure it all works fine before going ahead.

    See this thread for more details, though it was written for the original BB I've yet to see if that is all accurate for LE as I don't have it.

    Fairground of Engagement is a bit too “pleasant” for me, maybe Fairground of Evisceration, FOE is good. It’s workable but not as spirited as I’d go for :p

    I really like Coach’s playground :p

    I’m going to throw [COP] Carnival of Pain out there

    Also [NTC] Net Troll Championship – as all us net trolls compete for kudos

    On a purely comical note (please don’t take this seriously)

    Hi Coach!

    Any news on your league?

    I have tried Stunty client and it seems to me far from user friendly. Not saying is bad or extremely difficuly, it is just not trivial how to get started. If you want to attract players you may want to consider a league that is "easy" to start with. I.e. a standard league at Cyanide servers, plus maybe a requirement to just upload the match at BBmanager or such.

    I don't see how it is much harder to use than BBManager though offers more flexibility afaik.

    I'll create an instruction video that people can follow as well, should eliminate most issues. I agree that Stuntyleeg could do with some more polish and ease of use for new players though that is out of my hands. If more people tell funnyfingers that he might start believing me!

    Should do, still working on an instructional video. Unfortunately not had much in the way of interest to test things.

    So probably going to go ahead and use the league to test...
