    Season Eleven

    SPECTER OF THE FLUFF

"Dissiz Brunt Goreball wit CabalVision, back 'gain wit more cov'rage o' Da Orciad. I'm 'ere wit Coach Landwaker ta size up da 'leventh season. Kit Kavdaver wuz sposed ta be 'ere too, dunno where he be.
LW: Ah, well, I vaguely recall him being especially mopey a while back and me telling him to get lost, forgetting that as my zombie he's compelled to obey what I say.
    BG: Com-wha?
LW: Nothing, let's just get on with it.
BG: Hrm. So da team's still going strong afta nine seasons an' change. How much longa you see 'em goin'?
LW: We've still got a couple seasons in us to try for the title again. Plus we've got three more superstars who want to join Hec and Kill as true legends, or die trying.
BG: Ya've been predicted first, tink it'll be easy dis season?
LW: I never think that. We've got the most experienced team, but that just means the other teams get more inducements, and almost all the other coaches are more experienced than me, many by hundreds of matches. The team's gotten bloated and expensive, especially when I added trolls back to sponge some Claw in the last couple games, so a bit of attrition in the right places would be handy.
BG: So ya really do want da gobbo ta die?
LW: Well ... let's just say he won't get any apo. Damn tough little git though.
BG: Anyting else ta add, wot wot?
LW: Yeah, sorry again for that head hit way back when.
BG: Oh, not ta worry, not ta worry, da changin' accent's been a big hit wit da fan's, wot wot. So cheerio Coach, an' good luck wit da games! Dissiz been Brunt Goreball wit a wee pre-vee-yoo chat fer Big Crunch Season O'Leven, yar!"

Still the most ridiculous team in the BC. Although the Black Orcs are getting beaten up slowly.

    :(

One of BC's legends waves his final farewell. Tough luck, LW, hope it picks up again next match!

    THE DEATH OF HECTORC

As radiant Horcsper shines with keener light,
Far–beaming o'er the silver host of night,
When all the starry train emblaze the sphere:
So shone Fanaticly's fists of fear.
In his frenzy he waves his weapons round,
    Eyes the whole orc, and meditates the wound;
But the rich mail Hectorc lately wore
Securely cased the warrior's body o'er.
One space at length he spies, to let in fate,
Where 'twixt the neck and throat the jointed plate
Gave entrance: through that penetrable part
Fanatic'ly he drove his fist like a dart:
And pierced the windpipe, and took the power
Of speech from his dying hour.
Prone on the field the bleeding warrior lies,
And, as bloody as he lived, Hectorc dies.

The Fates suppress'd his labouring breath,
    And his eyes stiffen'd at the hand of death;
To the dark realm the spirit wings its way,
(The orcly body left a load of clay,)
And plaintive glides along the dreary coast,
    A naked, wandering, melancholy ghost!

That was beautiful. A legend died this day. And so Fanaticly's legend grows...

    My favorite part was
When all the starry train emblaze the sphere:
So shone Fanaticly's fists of fear.
I am sorry for your loss and Fanaticly is surprised he wasn't on the board himself sooner.

Less so now, we finally reached our summit a bit above 1100 SPP. Now to see about the descent...
A bit eerie that Hectorc and Orchilles couldn't share the field as legends for even one match. I certainly hope the luck bar doesn't get set lower...
Well said. It was a good death.
Aw, but they're looking forward to playing with your AV7 kitties again...;)

I know some while think I'm being nitpicky because he didn't survive the full match, but they were both in that last game as Legends.

Ha, very well, let us engage in the picking of nits. Now, if I had used the phrase "in even one match," I would concede your point as they were both on the field at the same time. But since I instead wrote "for even one match," a minimum duration seems inherent. If I had written "for even one hour," I think you'd agree that if they shared the field for anything less than an hour, the statement would hold. Here, they did not share the field for the match. Thus while "one full match" would have avoided any room for argument, I don't think it's necessary in this context. Nits = picked.

That just about sums it up. Good luck the rest of the season - always a pleasure facing you, regardless of the result.

If you're going spend the last two turns gangfouling, why would you target star players?

Because I left the two of them on the LoS while I put the rest of my players way in the back.

How does a sub coach work? Do they login and play your game for you?

Yep, just find a coach you trust (who's not playing in your division), create a temp password for them, and okay it with your opponent and the admins.

Nice, sounds interesting to give another coach the reins of your team for a game and see how their play style and use of players differs from yours. Sounds like it could be a fun learning experience as well as being more interesting than an admin result
