Safe pair of hands is gonna be a must have skill in bc on a lot of team
My initial reaction to it was that it was odd that it didn't work against Strip Ball. Though when you consider that Strip Ball is already easily cancelled with Sure Hands it doesn't make much sense to have that ability on Safe Pair Of Hands as well.
The easier it is to break into cages the more useful that skill becomes, I can't see it as a priority on anyone over the more established core skills.
I guess advantage of anti guard skill is if your oppnent has 3 players with guard lined up, you can stop all of them with 1 player then have some other guard players helping him out.
You probably would take it after guard on a piece that would normally take guard though, however with 1300 tv cap for rebuying teams, maybe not and having specialised players will be more of a thing?
Safe pair of hands negates lightning bolt more or less and also cage leaps so in league settings on a bc goat it’s invaluable
love that you now can position against leaps and bolts much better
Well if the anti-Guard skill is an Agility skill as I suspect it, then those teams without easy Guard access are quite likely to favour it to some degree.
I'm also wondering if Dwarf Longbeards are going to lose Tackle as a starting skill.
@BallztotheWalla I'd forgotten about Lightening Bolt as every tabletop format I've played in has removed Wizards. Lightening Bolt is under-costed and far too game defining imo. In that environment you make a good case for the skill I hadn't considered and that may also change my view of Wizards to some degree.
I feel like dwarfs need a nerf of some degree so removing tackle from them would make sense.
Edit: To clarify, they need a nerf when taking into account new rule changes.
With amazons gone there also is no problem with removing tackle from dwarfes + it has the benefit of making stunty teams more viable
Goblin coaches rejoice even more than they already are! (I can only hope that does happen to dwarfs)
I haven’t seen confirmation regarding Amazons. If they aren’t in the initial release I would be surprised if they don’t release them as a box afterwards. There are still several teams with no official GW minis still, so it makes sense to add them later.
One of the leaks said that the wizard would be fireball and Zap! (transform targeted player into a frog), so lightning bolt sounds like it won’t be in the game unless they include racial wizards that have a variation of it.
I assumed "Zap!" would be a lightning bolt... Don't really understand why to change it to this frog thing...
Thats how it originally was in bb tabletop
But it was never used since it’s a 4+ against st3 players so why not just fireball (apart from the fun in stomping the frog since injuries to the frog carried over to the player afterwards)
In Spike 1 (Chaos) Zap! is explained as being the frog spell.
Other than when someone potatoes, is there much of a reason use zap over fireball?
I can't work out why they bothered changing bolt into zap.
People use it in fumbbl to eliminate oppo best player by blitzing it after I believe @Street
We now have Chaos:
Interesting. Warriors with Brawler is nice. Familiars look to be useful for fouling with, or the Mino can kick them if you want your team to kill them instead of the opposition.
Overall looks better for Chaos. The Minotaur has gone down to Loner 5+ but with Familiars and the new Kick Team Mate skill they can join in the fun of throwing stunties down pitch. I'm not sure how I feel about the Chaos Warriors... sorry "Chosen" gaining Brawler for no cost though. I guess it helps offset what may be an emphasis on lower TV play (potentially through Re-drafting as per BB2016), but if perpetual leagues carry on as is this team just got stronger off the bat.
Yeah nice tweaks to the team, though Chaos Warriors lose 1 agility too.
Familiars are good for picking up the ball, but then you have to make sure you protect them properly, as any opening makes it easy to blitz down.
Speculation this may be faked, no +1 after Mighty Blow and the text on the Familiar's line is slightly out of alignment. 2+ (AG4) and Sure Hands on the Familiar does seem a bit good.
Separate names with a comma.
