I have been through the entire rulesets from LRB 6 and the new 2016 version and compiled a list of changes; some of them are small changes in wording that lead to a clarification or a potential rule change affecting the skill. NAF have looked over these and asked me to share this for people in the know to make comments on so here’s the list: I have put Possible rule changes first as potentially more interesting and clarifications second

    Possible Rule Changes:

    Animosity:
2016 does not specifically state you cannot move after a failed roll just that you must 'pick another target', LRB6 specifically states no further movement is allowed and that the action is lost. Contentious point then: if you were handing off the wording 'pick another target' in range of the teammate who he does not have animosity towards does not specifically state no further movement.

    Leader: (also see clarification)
2016: Removed 'after any Master Chef rolls' suggesting you could argue that these can be taken by the chef also!

    Piling on (obviously!)
2016: 'the inclusion of the skill in leagues and tournaments is optional'
2016: 'You can use a team re-roll to re-roll the Armour roll or Injury roll.'
NAF Rules Update 1st August 2017: Piling On should be allowed and NOT require a Team Reroll to use. The NAF accept that the PO rule change comes from league play experience rather than tournament play. It is also accepted that with a boost to other stunties (Timmmber and Argue the Call), PO removal would unnecessarily harm ogres.

    Safe throw:
2016 added: 'a pass of a ball (not a bomb or thrown team-mate)’. Possibly just a clarification as Throw-Team mate is unmodifiable but not sure if safe throw could be used by bombardiers previously?

    Shadowing: (potentially huge differences)
2016: A player with this skill can use it whenever an opposing player voluntarily moves out of a square in their tackle zone for any reason (not counting push backs and other involuntary moves).

LRB 6: The player may use this skill when a player performing an Action on the opposing team moves out of any of his tackle zones for any reason.

So Shadowing no longer requires the movement to be an Action just a voluntary movement out of the square. In theory this could now be used for Shadowing a quick snap or a pass block and oddest of all shadowing a shadowing player; although you can't force them to have to dodge away from you (see below)

2016: 'this is a free move, and Dodge rolls are not required while making it. '

LRB 6: 'He does not have to make any Dodge rolls when he makes this move, and it has no effect on his own movement in his own turn. '

Basically the same however, for shadowing a shadowing player the first shadower does not need to dodge so the second shadower, shadowing them, can only move to follow (conga, conga, conga...).

    Stab:
Removal of '(except for Stakes)' along with the Skill Stakes

    Stakes:
Gone… no more stabby bonuses and the undead can breathe a sigh of relief if they could breathe!

    Clarifications:

    Accurate:
LRB6: The player may add 1 to the D6 roll when he passes.

2016: The player may add 1 to the D6 roll when they pass the ball.

Differences: LRB6 could apply to passing anything, 2016 only the ball

Bombardiers with accurate still add +1 when throwing bombs as this is in Bombardier skill,

But Throw team mate players with accurate also do not add +1 when throwing a Right Stuff player (if they ever did, although in LRB 6 can’t see anything to say they couldn’t).

    Always Hungry:
Clarification: Differences: 2016 specifically states from square the team mate was in, i.e. where they were picked up from, rather than LRB6 subjective scatter from the team mates square which could be ruled as the throwers square as they have picked them up!

    Blood Lust:
2016 'Note that if a Vampire is adjacent to at least one thrall, they must bite one of them - they cannot choose to stay hungry!'

(possible rule change): 2016 'Similarly, if the team suffers a turnover during the Vampire's Action - for example, if they attempt to dodge and are Knocked Down - they are moved to the Reserves box (they stalk off into the crowd once they have recovered)' This implies if they are knocked down during a dodge they don't roll for armour or injury just move to the reserves box?

    Bombardier:
No pass block vs Bombs in 2016: LRB 6 'All skills that may be used when a ball is thrown may be used when a bomb is thrown also'. Addition in 2016 'All skills that may be used when a ball is thrown may be used when a bomb is thrown, with the exception of Pass Block.'

    Decay:
2016: A player with Decay can never benefit from an Apothecary - they honestly wouldn't know where to start...

So no apothecary can be used, assuming the team has access to one, not sure if this applies to igors?

    Diving Catch:
LRB6 'If there are two or more players attempting to use this skill then they get in each other’s way and neither can use it.'

2016 'If Players from both teams are in a position to use this skill at the same time, they get in each other’s way and neither can use it.'

Removes option of two players on same team potentially cancelling each other out?

Can potentially be used to catch bombs?

    Dump off:
2016 specifically states you can make interceptions on a dump off

    Hail Mary Pass:
2016 states: '(this can be re-rolled with the Pass skill, or with a team re-roll) - this roll cannot be modified in any way'

So can be rerolled but not modified by other skills; so Disturbing presence will not affect it which was not implicit in LRB 6.

Can be used to throw Bombs as it states this in Bombardier skill

    Juggernaut:
2016 version states specifically that both down to pushed is only on Blitz Action

    Jump up:
2016 specifically states '(No modifiers apply to this roll)' in relation to blocking from prone.

    Kick Off Return:
2016: Added '(regardless of their MA)' clarifying that MA1 or 2 players can complete the 3 squares.

    Leader:
2016: Removed 'as he prepares to throw the ball' indicating the leader player does not need to be holding the ball

2016: specifies how to show your team re-roll 'Track this extra re-roll by placing an unused Blood Bowl coin on the Team Re-rolls area of your Dugout, in the space after the Re-roll counter'.

    Leap:
2016 adds 'They can Go For It if necessary to make the leap; if they do so, and the Go For It roll (or rolls!) are failed, they are Knocked Down in the square to which they were leaping' so does not need to be within the MA of the player to attempt and can use GFI.

    Multiple block:
2016: Adds 'Note that if there are more than two adjacent players, you can wait until the first block has been resolved before declaring the target of the second block.'

    Pass Block:
2016 replaced '(but not a bomb)' with '(but not when they Throw a team-mate, even if they are holding the ball)'. However Bombardier states you can't use Pass block on bombs. So no Pass block on bombs or flying team mates; as if you'd be insane enough to want to anyway!

    So please add comments!

Has Sara the Slayer only lost her stake skill or is other stuff done to her?

Is it now possible to fail multiple animosity rolls with the same pass action?

    Timmber is a new skill?

Argue the call is that the same as in the old days? How about I got my eye on you?

Any clarification on the BL vamp failing a dodge? Normally I would roll armor and if not broken remove it to reserves.

Nice that the HMP has been clarified. Tired of trying to get nurgle players to understand that.
