Yes folks, some of you have been waiting for it, others are too busy, but that won't stop it The UEI Crunch Cup XV is coming right up.

It is not the Skaven-led first UEI, nor the Elf-ruled second UEI. Nay, this is the third coming, and it means death. But with the number XV on top of that and it being played during the year 15 - well, that's a double fifteen at least.

(But I'll only write the fifteen one time anyway)
    the UEI: Crunch Cup XV

    The Structure:

As with previous Crunch Cups, this season will be divided into a divisional group stage and a play off stage with the top teams from each division progressing to play in the knock out matches until the final is reached and an eventual winner.
As has been the recent habit, in order to increase flexibility the league will be managed in two parts using Cyanide. The group stage will be played in the league UEI: Crunch Cup (Group Stage) and the Play Off process will be played in the league UEI: Crunch Cup (Play Off Stage). This will allow for a flexible number of divisions to fit the variable number of applying teams and Play Off places to be determined on a more flexible basis depending on the number of divisions.

The Group Stage and qualification for Play Offs:

The group stage will include divisions of 8 teams, giving each coach 7 matches played on a weekly basis. Teams will be assigned to divisions by manual seeding as determined by the League Commissioner in order to match similarly experienced and developed teams to the same divisions and allow newer teams a fairer chance of success by placing them in divisions of the closest peers.

The playoffs will have a straight elimination ladder. The amount of teams in the ladder will be the multiple of 2 that best fits to give at least 1/3 but less than 2/3 of the teams a place in the playoffs. (By the nature of things there should only be one such number.)

In the event of having an unsuitable number of divisions to just cull the top teams of every division into the Playoffs, the remaining places will be assigned on a Wild Card basis, with the top non-qualifying teams assigned places based on their point score regardless of division. If possible wild cards will face the nearest available wild card from a division above themselves, and be slotted into the playoff schedule like that. If the amount of divisions is odd, wildcards will instead be facing off against division 1 teams (but what a chance at instant glory).

    The Rules and Eligibility:

Full rules, including the eligibility requirements for teams to enter the Crunch Cup, can be found in this thread:

    http://bbtactics.com/forums/crunch-cup-rules-t4115/

All coaches registering an interest in the Crunch Cup will be asked to sign up to the "Crunch Cup" league in the Cyanide game by the deadline of the first of April. Failure to sign up in game may see the application ignored in favour of coaches further down the list.

When it comes to admission to the league, applications will be managed in a first-come first-served basis, based upon posting in this thread.

All coaches should provide the following details below to register their interest:

Coach name (forum and in game)
It is preferable to also note Team name, Race, TV and Timezone, mostly for other coaches to see. It is allowed to change any of the latter up until signing into the game.

    -

Right, that's it. The Crunch Cup 15 will be kicking off mid-April, depending a bit upon how soon we manage to fill in the last division after all applicants have signed up.
All applications posted in this thread before first signing in-day will hopefully get a place. (The starting date is deliberately left vague to allow for a possible delay while I scrounge up a couple more players.)

Ask questions in the thread below. (And as mentioned, sign up in the thread below.)

    ---

Update: It's pretty much closed by now. We're waiting a day to see if there's enough people to add another division, but that's about it.

I'm assuming with the bbattl affiliation that I can use my UKBBL team as they qualify? Thanks!

Edit: Current TV is 1980 with a skill-up pending that will either be +1 MA or a normal selection. However, the roster is currently at 15 players (filler for MNGs from last game), so one rookie beast gets the axe. Final TV will be 1940 or 1950 depending on which skill I take.

I'll take a season with my CTALE Chaos team and see how they roll. They got a few skills after the last CTALE match so should have overcome the worst.

I really like my Lizards but I guess they can take a season off.

    c) The team has played previously within an off-season Crunch Cup affiliated league and met the eligibility for these tournaments as appropriate within the rules established for these affiliated leagues.

From the rules is why I asked for a ruling because I took that to mean BBATTL applicable teams which UKBBL Teams would be. I have a feeling its part and parcel of the BBATTL membership rules.

My recollecton of that rule is that if your team was CTA eligible & then played either in CTALE or in BBTs Big BBATTL then they don't lose their CTA eligibility. I seem to remember that it was not to open the CTA for all BBATTL eligible teams.

But Nik is da man in da know.

I am very sure that St Cloud's reading of the rule is correct. It was very explicit that the Big BBATTL was not a backdoor into the Crunch Cup.

    Yes
Different leagues have different rules regarding teams from other BBATTL leagues joining then.

    Fun League lets anyone in.
SvS and RMMBL accept them on a case by case basis. The admin teams have a discussion about where to fit them in.
    OCC doesn't let them in.

I think the crunch cup said that teams from the crunch cup could play in the Big Bbattl and then return to the crunch cup but that was the only exception to the normal rules.

Big Crunch said even Big Crunch teams couldn't come back if they played in Big Bbattl

Its not a problem anyway and I'm sure your right, though the Rulebook needs reworking around that point if the case as to me it suggests otherwise. I just thought it would be an exciting way to use my retired team but I understand your all terrified of Facing the Addiction and understandably so when you look at the Carnage they have caused!

I think, given their success, I should probably bring my CTALE team across to the main event, although they're feeling pretty tiny lining up against all these TV2000 teams.

    Coach: MaxCarrion
    Team: Twelve Buried Corpses
    Race: Dark Elf
TV: Whatever they end at, I think they're around 1200-1300 with 1 to play

There might be more BBT-BBATTL runs, but the CC is still for teams that have gone up the ranks through BBT-CTA/CC games only (one single game exception can be allowed in special cases)

But it can be discussed later on, after BC teams have become allowed. :D
