Dryads are too cheap, or too fast, your choice. :D

    Black Orcs - MA4 at 80k.
    Chaos Warriors - MA5 AG3 at 100k.
    Saurus - MA6 AG1 at 80k.

MA6 AG2 would be more than a Saurus by +AG.

MA6 AG2 would be more than a Black Orc by +2MA.

10k for either 2MA or 1AG seems a bit low to me (given I think the Chaos Warrior is cheap at 100k too).

My initial thought was to drop AV to 8 as well, but I think I'll increase the cost to 100k then they are 1 MV up and 1 AGI down on CW's without mutation access of course.

I think I see what you're going for. Semi-competitive stunty team, right?

Unfortunately what you seem to've come up with is Lizardmen for masochists.

why on earth do dryads have Str4? you've seen pictures of dryads, right? They're wispy little half-tree, half-elf women-spirits that hide in trees and charm passers-by. I'd expect a dryad to be something like Str2 and MA 7 with hypnotic gaze or something, not a burly blitzer!

Go for Satyrs or something and you've got a blitzer whose fluff is viable with its stats.

My feeling is that you've yet to do a Google image search for 'dryad warhammer'.

Willow Rosebark is a Dryad star player, I believe, and she has ST4. Sure, sometimes Star Players get a stat bump over their positional equivalents, so I guess you could argue the toss, and 'Dryad' as a positional doesn't exist (anymore, at least) so we don't actually have any way of knowing. But I think we can infer that wispy they are not. ;)

If you withdrew that John you'd disappear :p

Having played a lot of Warhammer Fantasy in my youth I think Dryads could do with a return to Bloodbowl and this was a way of crowbarring them in.

Handled already, but "half-tree" and "half-elf woman" - well, trees are ST 6, elves and women are ST 3, so half of each is ST 4½, rounded down to 4 :p

Also, 4th edition D&D Dryads look like this:

I use one of the D&D miniatures for that Dryad as a replacement treeman for my wood elf team (since the GW variant is so danged big on the pitch)

MA 6, STR 4, AGI 2, AV 9 - Normal GS, Double AP

Should cost at 100 k, according to the design document, so it's smack on right now.

    -

    However, Willow Rosebarks stats are

MA 5, STR 4, AGI 3, AV 8 - Thick Skull, Dauntless, Sidestep (Loner)

And as a rule Starplayers never have worse stats than their base players.

So I'd say Dryads should be

MA 5, STR 4, AGI 2, AV 8 - Thick Skull, GS access and cost 100 k exactly

(Making them AG 3 would only up the cost to 110 k, but then they'd quite likely be the ballcarriers always, so should probably be avoided)

Nik's suggestions for the Dryads makes sense. Then again, they're an obvious nerf. Thick Skull or 1av and 1mv? Hm, toughie!

Which star players can they take? Deeproot and Willow, presumably, and Morg of course. Who else? Jordell Freshbreeze? Puggy and Zara?

Any other special inducement rules? Presumably the Halflings get to keep the cheap chef as their one unique selling point (and non-Loner Trees, I suppose).

The Dryad statline Nik suggested there is much better than my original idea yes.

No special inducements, the Dryads make these guys better than 'Flings already

Hadn't given any thought to Stars but...

    Morg
    Deeproot
    Willow

    and introducing

David the Gnome - MA 5, ST 2, AGI 4, AV 7 - Dodge, Right Stuff, Stunty, Sneaky Git, Catch, Fend, Sprint

For the low, low price of 180k

Why not go with the "smexy Dryads" angle and make it so they get two bloodweiser babes for the price of one ;)

Yea, that gnome should be 190 k, actually :p

Hmm.. considering that, reverse-engineering Willow Rosebark reveals that the Dryads stats should probably be:

MA 5, STR 4, AGI 3, AV 8 - Thick Skull, Dauntless, GS access and cost 110 k (with rebate included because Dauntless is a pretty crappy skill on a ST 4 piece)

You might want to restrict them to two per team in that case - but having four of those Dryads on the team would definitely make it an odd team. Chaos without claws or beastmen ;)

    You missed Loner off David.
That makes sprint a very risky option and catch isn't going to be used often so I would replace both with Sidestep.

Actually, Roxanna might be a good fit for the tree-lady sisterhood. Lots of utility in her skills and stats.

Lumbering (ha!) the Dryads with Dauntless just seems cruel. Star Players often get two or more skills on their positional equivalent.

Dave is the right mix of brilliantly good and hatefully bloated (see Moranion, Hubris, Borak et al).

    Yeah forgot loner.

Idea is he can be used for TTM's as has the AGI and Catch and Sprint, but OH MY GOD THE RISK!

And of course he wouldnt be a star without the hateful bloat

    Yeah and should add 10k....:p

Don't forget the copyright infringement. You might have to name him 'Dafydd' and make him ride a sheep instead of a fox.
