Hi, I had a game last week where a problem occured that neither of the players, nor the rulebook could solve (at least we couldn't find anything on that).

What exactly happens, if an inaccurate pass is thrown to a player in the end zone or next to a sideline, and the first of the three scatters takes the ball over the line? Do you throw it in from there, or do you roll two more times to see, where it ends up.

We decided to keep rolling, because the ball doesn't land outside the field and might scatter back in. Also, even if it doesn't, it is important to see from where exactly it is thrown back in again.

A problem that might occur: You may have to think of up to three additional "imaginative" rows of squares behind the sideline, where the ball might go.

What do you think is the right method?

You stop scattering as soon as it leaves the pitch and work out the throw in. It's in the FAQ on page 77, the second from last question.

Yeah, it's not the most obvious place to look. In fact the questions and answers there are pretty much the same as in LRB5, which begs the question why weren't they put into the main rules section for LRB6? It's quite annoying to have to check an extra page each time you look something up just in case it's covered there too. Then again there were issues with the rules committee and GW so maybe it wasn't possible for some reason.

GW have had a long history of sabotaging their own finest games, mostly because their best games don't require players to own so many models.

The LRB6 stuff was only the latest in a long line of screw ups under the Specialist Game banner they used to try and kill them.

I completely disagree. LRB 6 was the final incarnation of the work of dedicated blood bowl fans who really wanted to see the game reach a perfect, stable, balanced state.

I think they did a fine job. No one ever gets rules perfect, mostly because what you and I consider perfect, others would not.

I mostly agree with that, and I don't expect them to be perfect. But incorporating the LRB5 FAQs into the main LRB6 text, so avoiding the need to turn to another separate page whenever looking a rule up just in case it's further clarified there, seems like a straightforward and sensible thing to do, which is why I wondered why it wasn't done.

Also I don't think Gallows Bait was talking about LRB6 itself but the controversy that surrounded its release. But I could be wrong. :p

I still think we need a LRB7 with the bankrule instead of Petty cash, Petty Cash is by far a none usefull rule and only inspire to hoarding cash:skull:

    Indeed I was Rusty,

    That and small things like

    a) Miniatures out of production
    b) Current rules not supported in published boxed game
    c) Specialist Games killing off of any publications that supported it - including Journal, Fanatic and Blood Bowl magazine - all killed off with active subscriber bases and no warning
    d) GW completely missing the boat and failing to publish anything at all Blood Bowl related for over 10 years, despite ongoing popularity
    e) The above including missing the boat for the 20th and potentially now 25th anniversary, despite the HUGE financial success of their special edition of Space Hulk last year
    f) GW stomping all over the most dedicated supporters by their shoddy treatment of the Blood Bowl rules committee volunteers

I love the game, its the game that got me into the hobby over 20 years ago, but GW have treated it appallingly and currently Cyanide is the one bright spark in over a decade of disappointment.

Sure you don't need lots of models to play it, so maybe it won't make tonnes of money, but it requires little investment and it introduces people to the games in a short, playable, fun and cheaper environment.
