So far my frogmen are off to a great start. I won a particular cup we have locally last season, that allows me to swap my highest cost player with any other player. You retain the cup until the tournament comes around again that you won it, and the new winner takes the cup. (I won it late in the season, about 14-16 game in, so Ill have it awhile) As we have humans, Chaos Pact, Underworld, and Skaven I decided to swap the Krox for a Beast of Nurgle. ( tentacles being better than prehensile tail in my opinion )

    Starting lineup consisted of :

    Beast of Nurgle

    2 Blitzers

    3 Catchers

    5 Linemen

    2 RR ( +1 extra for holding the cup = 3)

My first game I won a whopping 3 - 0 vs Khorne, gaining 22 SPP in the process. Next I managed a 2 - 2 draw with Necro due to some poor dice, and my 3rd game was VS humans in a 2 - 1 win, barely scraping by with some leaps and long passes to score, while being depitched due to lucky 2d6 rolls ( I had 4 players left on the field)

Both blitzers now have block, and all 3 catchers have dodge, with 120k in the bank, and an apothecary.

Im thinking 4th RR, then another catcher, 5th RR, then a blitzer ( all assuming no replacements) This is almost 400k total though, so Ill be lucky if I manage this.

Im loving leap, it ruins my opponents plans.

There fixed it for you. :D

But seriously, just the threat of Leap is what should make your opponent paranoid enough for you to paralize his drive. Easier said than done. Agree Slann is fun. It can be very erratic as it is as 1D dependent as elves but hey.

So far they havent managed to adapt. They still think in tackle zones and dodges. The catchers leaping is the great part, and I reserve anyone elses leap for desperation or end of turn to break contact in a bad position.

Im not liking how my opponents are developing though. The dwarf team rolled +AGI on BOTH runners, and the khorne team now has block on his Bloodthirster.

Well, another set of wins for this team. 3-1-0 so far. Rookie humans bashed me off the field badly, but I still managed to win 2-1, and then VS Underworld, his dodges worked every time I used diving tackle, but snake eyed constantly other times. 3-2 my win, though only 20k winnings...

a catcher now has blodge, so I have a safe ball carrier, and the beast is just a casualty away from leveling up.

We will see what happens when I face the dwarf team, who decided to buy a death roller. Might be very painful...

Deathrollers are generally a bad mistake due to the TV bloat vs Seceret Weapon risk.

Hopefully it can get you some fun inducements to play with.

Also, how many players has he got in the roster? If he s got just the 11 then you know you need to receive the ball and score relatively fast to get the roller out of the game. Otherwise you can plan your drives accordingly to ensure the roller time in the pitch is minimized.

He has 12 including the death roller, so likely he will field it when he receives and grind 8 turns with it.

Unless you receive first and manage to Cas or KO one or two of his pieces in your drive, then score in your turn 6 or 7... ;)

If there ever was an incentive to gang-foul Dwarves then this would be it!

Well, my team has bloated in TV larger than a Old World Slann's physical apperance!

After 5 games, my 4-1-0 will now disappear, as the pre-season is finished. Now the qualifiers for the Chaos Cup begin.

I faced off against Skaven, and what a game. 4-1 win over those dirty rats, as Diving Tackle caused 6 turnovers. The Beast of Nurgle held many a gutter runner in place, while the linemen did their duty of occupying the Rat Ogre. 5 players skilled up, and OH THE ROLLS!

My team now stands as such:

    Beast Of Nurgle: Block

    Blitzer: Block
    Blitzer: Block, +AGI
    Blitzer:

    Catcher: Block, Dodge
    Catcher: Block, Dodge
    Catcher: Block, Dodge

    Linemen:
    Linemen:
    Linemen:
    Linemen: +AGI
    Linemen:

    4 Re-rolls and an apothecary

This causes me to weigh in at a hefty 1530 TV with 12 players. Doubles are flying on all the teams, along with +AGI and +STR. The khorne Bloodthirster is now Block, +STR. the dwarves have loaded up at 4 guard, along with both runners having +AGI. the Underworld now has a 4 AGI goblin, and a Underworld Blitzer rolled a double also. the Rat Ogre has Claw/Guard, a Gutter runner took 2 heads, with a Linerat taking Guard. It is going to be a VERY bloody season.

Here's to the Slann winning the Chaos Cup!

Agi is priceless on a blitzer I guess.

+Agi is priceless on any of the 3 AGI players, because it is now one more player who can safely leap. Which means one more player who can escort the ball carrier over the heads of others. With 5 players having AGI 4, thats the ball carrier and a cage all leaping at 2+ and its just one more player who can pick up the ball easier, catch, intercepts on a 4+, attempt a pass if needed... I need the other blitzers to get guard now though.

Today was the first day of the Chaos Cup qualifier. It saw my slann facing off against a 1340 Chaos Pact team. The troll had guard, one marauder with block, 2 with sure hands, the minotaur with juggernaut, and 3 RR. Right off the bat we should have known what kind of game this would be when we saw our Fan Factor rolls. He rolled a 2+7, I rolled a 3 +7. So I barely won FAME.

Perfect weather to begin the game and me receiving. And thus began 16 turns of The Nuffle Is Right: Plinko Edition. Seriously, neither of us managed to retain possesion of the ball for more than 3 turns, and the ball was bouncing everywhere and never being picked up from the bounce ( i can thank disturbing p. for that one, had a major effect on things.) Turn 2 a catcher has a lung ripped out, only for the apothecary to take a second look and decide he was okay after all. He almost declared him dead until he remembered Fishmen dont have lungs. End of the half its 0-0 with me kicking off.

After some scrum again where I lose 2 more players to BH and MNG, only inflicting 1 MNG on his blocker (his armor breaks were astounding, and I couldnt break his AV even with MB but 3 or 4 times the entire game) Finally im up 1-0. A pitch invasion decides to stun his ogre, goblin, and a marauder while i lose my beast, a catcher and a lineman to the same. He tries for the troll TTM, but the troll decides he wants to scratch his rear and sniff his finger instead. A leap blitz frees the ball again, and that was the last notable thing to occur.

1-0 win for the slann. We devoured our re-rolls, both rolling snake eyes all too often. But 60k in the pocket, a win under my belt, and only 1 MNG to show aint so bad.

Khorne faced Necro, and in a 1-1 draw, saw a dead pitfighter, along with a dead blodge werewolf to that monster 6 str block bloodthirster. Underworld faced skaven, and the rat ogre has inflicted 9 casualties in a mere 5 games (guard/claws) 1 dead underworld blitzer and 2 dead linerats, along with a flurry of casualties sees week 1 with 5 players dead, and the dwarves still havent played yet...

A horrible day for the Necro team as my Slann run roughshod over them. 3-0 win with necro suffering 4 casualties (only a -AV on a rookie zombie) to my 1 BH. Turn 15(3-0) and the werewolf has the ball on the sideline in scoring range with a guard support, and my opponent asking me to just let him score 1 TD... A leap blitz at -2d and I surf the wolf off the pitch. :D My newest blitzer rolls +STR, and thats too good to turn down. My TV is now 1580 with Underworld and Dwarves left to play. Im 2-0-0 for the Chaos Cup Playoffs.

    Beast Of Nurgle: Block

The Skaven ran circles around the Khorne with a 4-2 win, and the Underworld and Humans sees a 2-2 draw. Still undefeated, and hoping to keep it that way.

Wow 4 cas on necro. Also your skillups are ridiculous on this team. Youve found nuffle┬┤s favor with one of your teams at least.

Sounds like things are going well hungry! This blog is really making me wish Slann were in the cyanide version :( (Maybe in BB2? ...Nah, that would be something we actually want.)

Getting stats on blitzers this early is hard though, as you need block/guard so much. But having a 3+ leap with a 4 STR player, and more players who can leap on 2+ are just too good to turn down.

The dwarves.. OH THE DWARVES! seriously, they are getting retarded fast. He now has a STR 4, AGI 4, Dodge runner... Last week he massacred the skaven, and this week he did the same to the Humans, inflicting 7 CAS, 2 dead and 5 BH.

I faced off against Underworld, who turn one decided TTM was the way to go, and IT WORKED. Ultimately the game ended in a draw as I rolled a 1 to fail a GFI that would let me score the winning TD. Thats okay with me, as im now 2-1-0 in the Chaos Cup qualifiers, and I skilled a blitzer again, gaining my first guard. The entire game we had rubber mittens on(I swear those goblins are inflatable, they just seem to bounce when they go down). I KO'ed the troll, and a crowd surf killed the AGI 4 goblin, who the Apoth said NO, HES NOT DEAD YET. I had a blitzer KO'ed... 2-2 drw, with only 2 TD and a MVP for us each, but both with a whole team, cash, and an increase in Fan Factor.

The dwarves now lead in CAS with 22 after 7 games, and they are my last opponent. I think Ill let the Chaos Pact play them first, and hopefully soften them up a bit. They now have 6 guard, and stats and doubles abound. Its going to be a hard match, that I hope to come though mostly intact. I think Ill just have to avoid contact and retreat, allowing him only a blitz if I can.
