In light of recent events I've decided to try my hand at coaching Underworld. My main goal with this team is to just try and have some fun. Lately I've been caught up things since I came back to Blood Bowl and it`s negatively effected my game. Back in high school I could go 0-16 in a league and be no worse for wear.
Now it seems that one problem in game and I'm shaken into a downward spiral. I want to recapture the fun feeling I once had with Blood Bowl. I'm playing tier 3. I do not expect to win. My goal is to have fun, I hope I can remember that. I may keep a team blog and see if that helps.

That said, this team is going to be for OFTL PUGs and tournaments and maybe in the future the OFTL Arena League. I chose Underworld because they looked interesting to me. A mix of players that seem cool and unique. They have mutation access across the board. I've never played with mutations so it should get interesting.

I just wanted to pop in and see what advice I can glean from those more experienced than me. For the most part I've studied coaches articles and have an idea of where to go with Skaven, but the Goblins tripped me up a bit.

It seems like this team wants to build a killer troll and killer Blitzer through Claw/Mighty Blow. Since I only have one blitz a turn I kind of want to build the other Blitzer as a Guard support Blitzer. The Goblins are going to get two heads and side step (and then die?). Am I on the right track here? Can they be more useful?

In terms. Of throwers I think I want to build a ball carrying runner and maybe a support thrower with kick like my Orc team.

My lineman will probably get wrestle, but beyond that I'm stumped.

I'm heading into an exam now so my tablet has to go off. I'll check back after class.

You're definitely on the right track and I'll let underworld coaches help steer you further. BUT 2 comments. 1 I wouldn't necessarily build the troll as a pure killer, with tentacles they become a very useful roadblock which suits them well what with being RS, av 9 and regen. 2 I'm under the impression that guard isn't all that useful for underworld and that you're better off just building two killer blitzers so that you're not overly reliant on a single av 8 piece.

Thanks for the advice on the troll. If I take things like guard and tentacles I play to his strength, make him an irritating roadblock, and have to activate less, which means less stupid rolls.

More killer sounds fun, why would I want a boring support anyway! :skull:

I am, as an experiment, taking foul appearance as first skill on all my underworld goblins. I have one so far. It has failed to work so far although the plucky little fucker has not died.

Any that survive to level 3 will get claw.

Will let you know how they get on.

I really want to give a Goblin Horns, but I already have Blitzers, it makes me sad. How are disturbing presence Goblins?

All the mutations look fun! This is going to be the death of my team, options.

A 2head horned goblin is a great thing - no cage is safe!

    I never thought of that.
    Oh the pain.
    It must be done.
    Nuffle wills it!

    My thoughts:

Troll: Take claw or tents first depending on play style. I take claw first to speed his progress up. Guard and stand firm after.

Blitzers: These bring the pain. MB first on both then one takes claw, one tackle. Claw one goes tackle/PO/ horns while tackle one goes guard/claw then whatever your team needs.

Linerats: These are my wracklers. Two heads/horns/fend are all useful after but I can't even get one to level 3 so never had to think about it :p

Thrower: block/extra arms/two heads on one with block/tackle and maybe leader on the other. Other skills depend on where the team is.

Goblins: One goblin gets horns first, the rest get two heads. After that it gets fun. You will want a big hand gobbo, one or two extra arms, a backup horns and some ss/DT markers. Good luck getting that far :D

I have to agree with 20phoenix in whole measure. Your skaven are staples fo the team, with the troll your roadblock. The goblins become your specialists.. Horns goblin can blitz in a cage, big hand goblin can recover the ball. twoheads/bighand/extra arms goblins ( if one ever lives that long) or a 4 AGI bighand goblin means no loose ball is safe. (Big hand means you ignore TZ for picking up the ball)

I'm pretty sure big hand let's you slap elves better, guaranteed stunned result, no armour/injury roll. Keeps elves in line.

So many good mutations, so much fun. I was goofing off in MM and won against a Nurgle team. Thrower rolled Dodge. Goblin got hurt. All in all, not bad, and very amusing.

I really like the Troll, of course I fall in love with my Big Guys, and then they screw me, but I still love them anyway. Got a team in CTA and OFTL, so we will see where they go.

I'm flirting with the unorthodox idea of building catchers and running Skaven pass play. Of course I might be crazy.

Concerning tactics if u want to learn what NOT to do just check my team blog:p i'm great at making all kind of silly mistakes!

Enough bullshit, Twoheads on gobbos is very good, i try to get that on all of mine. FA is my second skill for most of them on normal roll, Incase of doubles i pick block or wrestle.
One should also have hornes for that special occasion.

Get u'r Blitzers lvl'ed up as fast as possible they are truly awesome.

    Linerats/Throwers/Troll's same as Phoenix20 ;)

Well TS i do like ss and dt but there's just SO many good skills to take!
That said i prefer dt over ss as first, then later ss could be handy.
actually my lvl4 Gobbo started with dt then got fa+block but imo two heads is the best starting skill for most of the goblings.

I had such a strangeness once too. But a solution for your problem particular problem this time could have been to change it so you view 20 posts per page instead of the default 10 ;)

For some reason this thread never updates for me. It always shows up as unread. Maybe the thread is haunted?

Maybe that. It is probably related to crimsonsun's problems - but I don't know how or why.
