Diving Tackle. It messes people up and woodies don't usually get to take it because they all die.
What about frenzy if you don't have it anywhere else?
I like DT
Well, Frenzy combos well with Side Step, as you don't mind ending up next to sidelines. However, Frenzy on a ST3 player is always a bit of a gamble, definitely needs a lot of thought when you play with such a player.
Also, Diving Tackle is a nice skill, too, and combos well with Blodgestep, as it's really hard to get rid of, if you park this player next to the opponent's ball carrier.
Thanks all, I went with Diving Tackle in the end. Indeed a bit frustrating that I didn't get a double, guard would have been perfect for this guy. But Diving Tackle is also an interesting option to try out (never had a diving tackler before).
Already got frenzy on one of my dancers BTW.
I'm playing Dark Elves in a (short) Table top league and after a brutal game against Undead (2 dead (MA8 Runner and LE), 2 MNG injuries (niggle LE with 2spp, -1S Blitzer with 5spp) and one LE MNG due to rolling a 1 for sponsor money) am down to:
3 Blitzers (none skilled up)
2 WE both 'Blodged'
1 Line ELf
1 Assassin who scored and got MVP and rolled a double
160k in the treasury
Firstly, what do you suggest for the double on the Assassin? Multiple Block or Guard. (next matches are HE. ProE, 2*Human Lizard and finally 2 Dwarf)
Secondly, what do I do about the S2 Blitzer?
I presume fire him and rehire a new one, its not as though he's got any extra useful skills. But do I do it now and get 2 journey-elves or accept 3 journeys now and use him on the LOS next game?
Thanks for your thoughts
I would sack both the blitzer and the niggled line elf. Loners are better than both of them.
Then replace the blitzer and put the loners on the LoS.
I don't like Assassins but ones with multi block are almost worth it.
What tys123 said.
I think most of the time Assasins get to actually use the Multiblock skill is on the LOS. But then again, other skills are even worse on them, so why not?
I have come across an interesting idea of getting Nerves of Steel on an Assasin double and using them as a downfield receiver.
The idea is that if someone marks them you stab the marker, if they're afraid to mark him you make the pass and score.
The one time I used an Assassin I went for Multiple Block though.
What's the point of NoS if he's not supposed to be marked to receive the ball?
I think NoS is a bad idea. If you have multiple receivers and one has NoS then that is the one that gets blitzed.
You don't want them blitzing the 120K AV7 without block or dodge .
If you really want NoS on someone ( and I don't think you do ) you put it on a blitzer.
That way they blitz the blodger and mark up the guy with stab.
Why would you get NoS on a blitzer when you can get Guard or MB? Some people like NoS on Runners but I think relying on Dump-Off is almost always a mistake.
Because you already have guard on the blitzer and MB on other players. However as I said I wouldn't. I would take Grab instead to set up surfs on a 2nd double.
Hey guys, in my necromantic team, my blodge sure hands ghoul rolled a double. What u guys think that i should go? If was normal i would go to fend or side step, but with a double don't know if i should go for other skill.
this is the team:
I guess you could take leader and drop a rr?
The ghoul double is really guard, but not on your BC.
Mighty Blow would be tempting. As that gives you another hitter on offense, he already has most of what he needs to be the ball carrier.
and leader, what u guys think about it? as i have already 2 MB with the wolfs, prefere to protect my ghoul
Give him guard anyway. If your ballcarrier is marked it makes it easier to blitz them away.
