SSC 1B MD 1. vs Rubbernecks (Humans, Boffa)

    Well.

It started pretty good, Boffa moved his team to his left, and then promptly failed to pick up the ball. So I through elfs in the direction of said ball and then failed my first attempt to pick it up. And then again after a reroll. Then the ball moved into Boffas cage to the left, and I promptly failed my first dodge of my second turn. With reroll. So then I was left clearly out of position.. And the KO's started raining down and it didn't help that my luck didn't get better (ok. I lie, it did get a little better, I actually succeded in a couple of rolls. But overall it sucked.) And I more or less gave up, when a failed first block ended one turn, and a intercept ended the next. Which gave Boffa his 2 goal before half time.

    I will not go on.

    Ended 3-1 to the Rubbernecks.

    Luck then?
    d6 Me: -12,63
    d6 Boffa: -14,36

    2d6 Me: -13,55
    2d6 Boffa: 13,81

/SorroW, who really hopes the rest of the season actually turns out better... :-/

You'll bounce back! You didn't do anything wrong just got terrible dice in the first half. I actually felt quite bad about how nuffled you were getting. Made it less enjoyable for both of us I think. If you'd really given up, you wouldn't have defended so well at the end stopping a 4th td and a blitzer level up!

Good luck with rest of season!

Sometimes the dice just roll that way. When Sasjhwa and I play, it's not the hard stuff we grit our teeth over, it's always the GFI's, dodges into open territory, and picking up the ball (even with Sure Hands) that worry us with elf teams in general.

Elf teams can be a blast to play, it's just sometimes their haughtiness makes them insist on failing the 2+ rolls. Don't let it get you down. :)

Not really surprising since the success of an agility team is based on relatively many 1d6 rolls while conservative bashers can get away with just a handful, provided they can get enough 2d blocks, and often have Sure Hands to prevent the most typical failures from eating RRs.

Additionally: GFIs - just don't. Tempting bashers to do 3-4 GFIs to get a 2d block on a blodge ball carrier (or anyone) can be surprisingly effective if you're out of position to screen properly, especially if the bashing team is short on RRs.

MD2 vs. Die Plix (Jeronimoo: Goblins)

And a return to form. Elfs playing like elfs should do... and goblins falling over themselves to remove themselves from the pitch. Sure I had 3 Cas against. But loads more for. Succeded in CASing out the fanatic turn one. And the Chainsaw turn 2. With the same elf no less... Dream, one of my blitzers ended up with 12 SPP's... not sure if he had ANY before this match, and he didn't get the MVP, since the loner stole that.... ofcourse.

After the dangerous goblins were removed, oh and one troll got KO'd by a thrown rock. It was smooth sailing. Scored twice before the half time. And twice more in the second half. And he was never close to doing anything... did try for a TTM one turner... and failed, since the rerolls had been burned by then.

I must say, there isn't much anyone can do to stop an elf team score, atleast when they have 14.62 luck on their 1d6 rolls. On the other hand, he had about the same on 2d6.. so I was leaving the pitch really fast. But lucky KO rolls and good luck on the CAS that I did, and it never felt close.

    4-0 to the Elfs!

    /SorroW

    EDIT:
Got three level ups. Both Blitzers and a lineelf. Should be good. Hope for a stat or 2.. (I have had 36 skill rolls with my "real" teams (in CC) and still only 1 +AG roll, no +ST... should be about time)

Will see what I can do Boffa.... still hurting things are not my forte!

Oh and does anyone know how long validations take? Since I am looking forward to rolling my skillups, and it has been quite a few days since I played...

If you post in the relevant place in here it's usually sometime within 24 hours (as long as it's prperly uploaded to BBM and stuff). If you don't then it depends on when the tier admins get round to it, which can be a few days.

Doomy had validated my game within an hour of completing it today, so mostly it usually depends who's online and whether they're looking :)

Good result for your team. Despite taking a break from my elf team, it's nice to look in on other ones.

Posted there... and got a validated game... Did my three rolls. Only skills, normal skills.

So 2xBlitzers. One dodge one tackle? or should I think further?

Lineelf. Kick. Really want it. And sooner rather then later.

/SorroW, who really think he deserved a couple +ST or so....

I would just get dodge on both blitzers to begin with. Most of the trouble I've had with my elves was keeping them alive

I was thinking Tackle, since I have both Amazons and Halflings left this season.... But you are probobly right.. should go for Dodge first.. on most of my players actually.... Like I did on Commedia. They all exept the thrower and the killer blitzer went for dodge... and it worked out really well...

The other thing about dodge is it stopping you burning rerolls trying to get elves out of the line of fire. Instead you get to waste them trying to pick the ball up instead :D

Sounds like a plan. Took two dodge and a kick. Will regret it if I can't get one or both Blitzers to tackle before the Amazons and Halflings.. But I will burn that bridge when I find it!
