But when the wife spot me putting it in the shed, she mentioned that the two fences at the front of the. House need doing d’oh so that’s my job tomorrow lol

Another missed painting opportunity for me due to these sprained wrists. Next two weekends will be full with work as well. Ugh.

Sorry to hear you are still struggling with the sprained wrists, working always gets in the way. But it helps us enjoy the good things in life. I am in the process of putting together my new hobby workshop. I have purchased a plastic garden shed, there’s also the shelving racks, workstation and spray painting booths so the shed arrives on Tuesday. Plus I have to paint the fences too! Oh and the wife as settled on the kitchen paints, it never rains but sometimes it will. lol

Please please advise me on do you have to paint a. Skaven team all the same flesh/fur, or can you choose to paint the fur differently. Because in Warhammer armies do have to.

You can definitely do different fur colours.

Since you are painting gaming pieces you may also want to use the color scheme (in this case including the fur colour) to differentiate the different pieces (i.e. blitzers from linemen etc.) and recognize them more easily on the pitch.
From the lore point of view this can be explained if you create some background which make different positional come from different tribes or subraces, but that is important only if you care for this kind of stuff.

Some great books there. Some I'm not familiar with too, will have to check them out.

My reading list is often filled with historical fiction, such as Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe or Alexander Kent's Bolitho novels. Bit of a Napoleonic Wars buff.

Bernard Cornwell is most known for the Sharpe series, (later made for ITV starring Sean Bean) and the Last Kingdom series (now adapted on Netflix). Sharpe's Rifles is still probably the best book to start with for that series. Although there are prequals chronologically now, it gives the best background to the character and sets the scene in context.

I'd also recommend his 3 book King Arthur series aka The Warlord Chronicles, which has a much more realistic post-roman era setting than many Arthurian works. The first book in that set is The Winter King.

Alexander Kent's Bolitho series are similar to Patrick O'Brien and CS Forresters Hornblower in setting, being based around a royal navy officer, but I find them more direct, (I find the other authors waffle too much). Again not written in chronological order, I'd recommend Sloop of War or To Glory We Steer as getting a good feel for the character before diving into his younger backstory.

I read that King Arthur trilogy over 20 years ago! Would definitely recommend it.

I'll check that out, seems up my alley. Been guiltily enjoying Britannia the tv show too.
