Hello all BBT World Cup coaches. Unfortunately, because Cyanide's client is not set up for double elimination, making it work is going to take some creative adminning and cooperation from you. This thread is to give you information about how this qualifier will work so that we can move through it as smoothly as possible so please read and absorb.
The first round of the competition should launch sometime this weekend. This will be a 64 team straight knockout tournament where all matchups are random. At the moment 9 coaches will get a bye in the first round which is a small advantage but ultimately everyone has to beat everyone else so this will not affect the competition to a large extent. These coaches need do nothing in the first round as their results will be adminned.
After the first round both winners and losers will need to leave the competition and accept tickets to a new competition. Winners will move onto the winners bracket. This will be a 32 teams straight knockout tournament which we will use for the rest of the tournament. The winner of this tournament gets one ticket. Losers in this tournament leve the league and will be given tickets to the losers bracket.
Losers will move to the losers bracket. This will be broken up into multiple divisions to allow us to easily seed matchups. Once you lose in the losers bracket you are out of the competition. Winners in the losers bracket will move on to the next round of the losers bracket and will be given new tickets to do so. The winner of this bracket gets the second ticket.
In order to move through the competition at the rate of one round a week everyone will need to be prompt about scheduling and accepting tickets. Please don't make us bug you every week.
To avoid teams playing each other more than once in the competition as much as possible we are setting matchups using this bracket maker https://challonge.com/BBTWCQ18
