Wisdom of the White Dwarf

Once per team turn, when one of Grombrindal’s team-mates that is in an adjacent square is activated, that player gains either the Break Tackle, Dauntless, Mighty Blow (+1), or Sure Feet skill until the end of their activation.

This special rule strikes me as being quite powerful for a couple of reasons. Firstly you can use it every single turn! Secondly you’ve got quite a bit of flexibility when it comes to which option to use, each has a pretty helpful use case.

Break Tackle has been altered to make it worse for strength four players but it is now useful for strength three, agility three players, of which there are a lot. This can let such a player dodge out on a 2+ to go an assist somewhere else, or maybe even do a blitz action. It can even be useful to help move a cage around as well.

Dauntless will let you battle back against stronger opponents.

Mighty Blow can aid you in trying to remove opposing players off the pitch, especially if you’re caught up in an almighty scrum.

Sure Feet can help get that ball carrier over the touchdown line on the last turn of the drive if you’ve not managed to get close enough. Again it can be helpful to move a cage if you didn’t have a player that was marked and perhaps needed Break Tackle instead.

If you position Grombindal well every turn this is a massive boon to have as it’s very helpful and very flexible. I also like the more strategic element that it offers compared to the just “do more damage” that a lot of the other special rules provide.

  1. THE WHITE DWARF is very good for Amazon, Halfling and Lizards teams Not as great for other Old World teams. Giving Break Tackle to the Amazons who all have dodge is great. It allows you to move into and threw a single tackle zone on a 2+. The other 3 powers won’t be used as much but he also comes with Block, Stand Firm useful to any team. But be careful the bonus is only used once per activation. As for Halfling and Lizards Break Tackle is great for you now you have a safety net to get past many tackle zones in case you roll a 2 one time. Dauntless to help Punch a Str 3 Player for Halfling and Skinks. Sure Feet for you to move 10 or 11 for skink with Sprint with the ball. For Halflings the catcher already has sprint so he can move 8 after being Throwed by the Tree. Mighty Blow WILL help the Amazon Blitzer hurt someone for Lizards give it to a Suarus not much use for a Halfling team since your Treemen come with it. But maybe bring in a Second Star player and give it to him if he does not have it like Little AKhorne..??!!!!!!
