Kick ’em While They’re Down!

This skill is a Special Rule that is only available to specific Star Players. Please visit this page to find a list of current Blood Bowl Star Players.

Kick ’em While They’re Down!

Once per game, Nobbla may use the Chainsaw Attack Special action against a Prone or Stunned opposition player. This does not count as a Foul action and so Nobbla cannot be Sent-off when using this ability.

This isn’t one of the most powerful star player special abilities but it has the potential to be really effective. A no risk foul with +3 to the armour roll means you don’t need to surround the downed player with as many of your players. Despite that you do still need to be careful about what square you do if from as you’ll not be able to move afterwards. So bear in mind where you position team mates if they are assisting and / or consider where they are standing to protect Nobbla from being blitzed by a dangerous opponent.

Timing wise Chainsaw players do run the risk of being sent off at the end of a drive and opposing teams will look to knock them over if the opportunity arises. Nobbla does have Block and Dodge so he is harder to knock over than most, but a blitz by a Tackle player could still end up with him leaving the pitch.

  1. Can he choose to use the skill after dice are rolled or must he nominate before? Thanks in advance. Great site, really useful.

    • Hi Jason, whilst you can choose to use most skills after seeing the results of the dice, in this instance you are choosing to use his ability for it to not count as a foul action before rolling the dice. You are avoiding it being a foul action, rather than it ignoring being sent off during a foul action.
