Lord of Chaos
A team that includes Lord Borak gains an extra Team re-roll for the first half of the game. If this Team re-roll is not used during the first half, it may be carried over into the second half. However, if Lord Borak is removed from play before this re-roll is used, it is lost.
In older versions of the game Lord Borak used to have the Leader skill. The inclusion of that basically meant you could take the cost of a team reroll away from his price. This isn’t as good as having Leader was, however getting an extra reroll when you hire him is still really useful. Most Star Players special rules tend to be to the benefit of only that player themselves, this team reroll gives you a lot more flexibility.
There is some strategic thinking involved in when to use it. If you don’t need it in the first half then it would be great to carry it over into the second half. Alternatively if you don’t use it as the first reroll (which you typically would with a Leader reroll) in a half, then you might lose it if he gets injured.
You also need to be careful about using it along side Lord Borak’s Dirty Player (+2) skill. You can really cause a lot of damage through fouling with Lord Borak, but if he gets sent off before you’ve used this extra reroll then you’ll also lose that. I’d be tempted to see how things go during the half, if it looks like you might use all your rerolls up then use this one before all of your team ones. If things have been plain sailing for you then I would look to try and save it for the second half.
If you have a bribe and are going to look to get the most out of his fouling ability then you might want to just use the free reroll up at the first opportunity, just in case the referee spots you fouling and doesn’t accept the bribe. Alternatively you might want to live dangerous and gamble that the bribe will let you chance rolling the free reroll over to the second half…
